North seeking rotating mass gyrocompass.

A standard ships navigational gyrocompass uses a combination of the earths roation and gravity to seek true north.  Early models contained no electronics - how can they work if the earth is flat?

I got it, I got it!:

Jesus came to my door yesterday.  He told me the earth was round.  I replied, "Tis a fine observation, my friend."  He then offered to sell me a globe.  I grabbed the globe out of his hands and beat the shit out of him with it, and slammed the door.

There are many lessons to learn from the above  :P

Umm... the Earth is turning in the Flat Earth model.

There you go.
Magic.
And then you realise it never even existed.

And who, pray tell, has denied gravity? The Flat Earth theory doesn't deny gravity, it disagrees only with the mechanism that produces it.

Yes, I believe that is the current FE model.

Of course, I pretty much memorize it by this point.

The model sometimes changes, as new things come to light.

You said it yourself. The FAQ changes. Who are you to be making this statement? And by the way, the FAQ doesn't say anything about UA or much about FE gravity.

If the earth was a flat disk rotating then gyro's wouldn't work in one point only - the centre of the disk .  Gyro's stop working in two places - at the poles as the Earths Rotational effect is almost non existent - like spinning a ball between two fingers.  Only posted this as there seem to be some pretty clever people on here that actually believe it.  I'm just curious as to what there reply would be.

="FAQ"In the "accelerating upwards" model, the stars, sun and moon are also accelerating upwards.

Q: "What about gravity?"

A1: The Earth is accelerating upwards at 1g (9.8m/s-2) along with every star, sun and moon in the universe. This produces the same effect as gravity.

The universal acceleratior is only way it would work.
