Ok guys this flat earth thing has me stumped. Have any of you every been on a plane? You can see the curvature of the earth when you are up that high. Also having climbed Ben Nevis I can personally confirm that the earth is round as you can see it curve from the peak. Care to prove my life experiences wrong? Please do. I just can't see how people can believe the earth is flat in this day and age.

You cannot see the curvature from any plane (or mountain top)you have ever been on.  Truth.  I will be posting more on this subject later today.  I have some great pics from 45,000 feet I took yesterday.

Wanna see my pics from 56,000 feet on Concorde?

Yes, I do.  Unless you lied and dont have any.

Oh, I do - but sadly, since pictures are inadmissable evidence on this forum, I can't be bothered to post them. Do you agree though that from 56,000 feet the horizon does appear curved?

Do you agree that I've already explained why this would occur? Seriously, nearly every REer on this forum ignores the answers we have to their questions and then say we haven't answered yet. I even quoted your post and quoted my answer, and yet you ignore it still.

It depends on who's doing the looking. A lot of it is placebo... you see what you believe you will see. And part of it is that what people think is curvature is actually just the curved (round) edge of our flat earth.
If you say that the earth is flat, you are destroying centuries of evolution.

How come I could not see the Ice WallTM if I could see the edge of the Earth? And how come the edge appeared to be at the coast of Portugal?

Fine PM me with the pictures if you dont want to put them up publicly.  I would love to discuss the horizon in them.  Sadly I dont think you have any.

Over the course of several hundred miles the accumulated density of the air would be impossible to see through.

Which would make seeing the curvature of the edge of a round disc impossible too then, wouldn't it? Duh.

No, because you see the curved shape of the air. It would make seeing the actual ice wall impossible though.

Did I say anything about the curvature at the edge of a round disc? No, I didn't, I believe that the earth bulges upward from the edge inwards making dome-like. Air gets thinner the higher you go, thus when you are on the ground looking straight forward you cannot see forever, but when you are ihgher in the air you can see farther. Duh. Idiot. I can make a diagram of this if you want me too.

An example of why I'm not going to post photos from anywhere, regardless of what they show:

This took me about one minute in Photoshop. This is the sort of manipulation I would be accused of doing if I were to supply pictures showing a curved horizon, and as I've said before, I won't be judged by the flatter's stupid witch-trial logic.

No, Taters, YOU did not say anything about seeing the curved edge, it was one of your cronies (W I believe). I though you all sang from the same hymn sheet? No wonder none of us can get sense out of the flatters with all these different opinions they all have. At least we round earth people all believe in the same thing. It makes crushing your ideas so much easier. And I don't want one of your diagrams, word on the street is they look like a child let loose with a crayon. You may find that insulting, but you called me an idiot, so do as you would be done by.

Oh yes, I was confusing you with a rational person Taters. I forget I can't accurately predict what your response to a picture would be because it depends who supplies it, doesn't it? Picture supplied by Raist/Wilmore/Peach etc: Behold, it is the truth! Same picture supplied by NASA/anyone you don't like: Fake! Conspiracy!

BTW I have reported your unnecessary bad language to the moderators. You may be losing the argument but at least lose gracefully.

Next time you want to win an argument don't ask the same questions that were already answered in the same thread. Also, you said you took the pictures yourself, I'm assuming you aren't NASA, and I never said anything about not liking you.

Round earthers all believe the same thing? That's a laugh! There are just as many variations of RET (if not more) than of FET.

Some things that round earth people are generally in agreement about that flat earth people generally have no coherence in their group view:
The size of the Earth
The layout of the countries
The existence of Antarctica
The orbit of Earth round the Sun
The orbit of the Moon round the Earth
The distance of the stars
I could go on, but I can't be bothered.

And before you start nitpicking that "some people think the stars are only about 100 miles away and the moon is cheese, even though they think the earth is round" I'm not talking about people who have differing beliefs through ignorance. If you got someone who thought the stars were 100 miles away, and sat them down and explained clearly, using examples they could understand, that science can demonstrate their distance and how it does it, after that they would believe what science has shown them. Flat earth theory fails to be able to do anything like that and that's why people will always be more likely to believe round earth theory, even if it isn't true - because it can be demonstrated to at least appear to be true within the limits of provable knowledge.

Your list could be made for anything through being selective about what is on the list so it doesn't really mean much but in any case, let's have a look.

The size of the Earth

We explained this earlier today, though I can't remember if it was in this thread or a different one. REers can't agree on the size and state of the universe, which is the same as FEers who don't agree on the size of the earth. If you want more details on that you'll have to find the thread.

No, actually, I believe in that stuff. The countries thing not so much, but that's a political thing rather than "Australia is bigger than the entire North American continent just because it is and that's how our map looks" thing.

I have yet to come across a geoncentrist who wasn't a little child, either. In fact, a lot of the stuff you decided to nitpick about was on the order of "the moon is made of cheese."

Yes, you can give a reasonably accurate range of where the stars are and how far they are.
