if anyone can explain WHY the dude in the caption has to cover his hand and arm in black plastic...to PROVE the properties of black body radiation are real ... and DISPROVE my claims that black skin absorbs and emits energy...(better than white skin) ...then i will forever leave pete and the fourm alone...FOREVER

I've explained it several times. If your grasp of English is too pathetic to grasp "To illustrate black body radiation for a Wikipedia article", God help you.

And I'm still waiting also,

Can you explain WHY Aeneas and the sibyl pass through the gate of ivory at the close of book VI of the Aeneid to prove this point..muur

or ill make it even simpler..
when light hits our skin...we ALL kno it does, and we ALL kno the ppl get skin cancer when the body doesnt know what to do w/ that energy...
and we ALL kno that black skincancer rates are much lower than whites...
then what happens to the energy after its absorbed by black skin?, where does it go? is it converted to a much useful form of energy?? or does it jus disapear?

That isn't how skin cancer develops.

and we ALL kno that black skincancer rates are much lower than whites...

So?

then what happens to the energy after its absorbed by black skin?, where does it go? is it converted to a much useful form of energy?? or does it jus disapear?

It essentially disappears.

Well muur, seeing as earlier in this thread you claimed that melanin and chlorophyll were the same thing, I didn't want to confuse you with an explanation at anything beyond the 7th grade level.

It really doesn't, but trying to explain it to you would simply confuse you even more. By the way, can you explain to me why I am the "doe doe" when you are the one who is having trouble communicating in English?

dude...im STILL realin over ur last statement about energy jus disappearing (evidence please)

I realize that it actually doesn't, but the truth would simply confuse you.

if all you can do is bold my errors...then bold away
ohh by the way..
Once the energy is absorbed by melanin, electrons are raised to excited states and in turn, pass the energy on to the cell in which it is situated . Simon reported that most (99%) of the energy absorbed is dissipated ‘non-radiatively’ within a nanosecond of excitation. The cell is then assumed to use this energy to regulate its conditions and drive chemical reactions, a role similar to that of chlorophyll in photosynthesis. It is widely supported that with increased melanin density in the skin, patients are less likely to encounter UV exposure related diseases.

Sorry, cancer arises from energy damaging dna, this has nothing to do with "being confused" as being confused takes sentience. Please stop pretending that molecules are sentient, it's retarded.

Also, there is a "w" in "know" it is not written "kno."

if light (energy) that hits the skin ISNT absorbed by the skin, its either refracted OR reflected back out..if the energy is refracted it scatters and damages surrounding cells, since the cells CANT use this energy...it damages its dna and cancer of the skin results...IF the light is absorbed (and not reflected off)...then the energy it taken to a moor useful form

There is another possibility. X-rays and gamma rays go straight through the skin.

http://www.skincancer.org/Skin-Cancer-Facts/
•The average annual melanoma rate among Caucasians is about 22 cases per 100,000 people. In comparison, African Americans have an incidence of one case per 100,000 people. However, the overall melanoma survival rate for African Americans is only 77 percent, versus 91 percent for Caucasians.21
•While melanoma is uncommon in African Americans, Latinos, and Asians, it is frequently fatal for these populations.6
•Melanomas in African Americans, Asians, Filipinos, Indonesians, and native Hawaiians most often occur on non-exposed skin with less pigment, with up to 60-75 percent of tumors arising on the palms, soles, mucous membranes and nail regions.25

dude youre only proving my point...where is the refrence towards skin tone???..they lump ALL african americans in one category..heres clue "non pigmented" areas are usually white or pink and LACK pigment  (melanin)...but nice try

huuuuh? did you read....thats 22:1...dude. & yes there are a significant # of african americans w/ light or pale skin race has NOTHIN to do w/ it but skin tone does..and the last i checked the soles of the feet and the palms are WHITE or very pale in color..furthermoor south africa has one of the HIGHEST rates of skin cancer NOT among the indigenous BUT amoung the colonizers.

human photosynthesis is the ability to take energy from the environment ABSORB it and use it (convert it to a more useful form) WITHOUT damage to its DNA. those ppl that LACK melanin will reflect or refract the energy and not ABSORB it thus resulting in moor occurences (higher statistics) of skin cancer (damage to the DNA)

There is a statistically significant number of blacks with skin tone lighter than whites?

Also, since you were making broad generalizations about race, race better have something to do with what you are saying. Otherwise you're not making sense.

actually..if u could read, they made reference to AA (race) as if ALL AA have the same skin tone...and what is a Caucasian?? they dont mention melanin @ all...remember melanin is the determining factor here...not race..race is a manmade concept and has no bearing when it comes to nature BUT they mention parts of the body that LACK pigment as a cause of skin cancer (palms and soles) in AA are white and LACK pigment
so they made a broad sweeping generalization by using the terms...AA and Caucasian...not me

...in otherwords....there are lightskinned AA or those AA that arent as deeply pigmented as others who MAY get skin cancer..again ADMIXTURE % has alot to do w/ it...which relates to skin tone. furthermoor...a darkskinned indian from india is considered Caucasian although they have darkskin because of admixture % they have moor "caucasian"...(whatever the hell that is?) admixture anything else
