I Have Just Travelled One Way Around The World
« on: July 02, 2006, 08:28:22 PM »
I have just returned from a one way round the world trip - which included California - and it does exist.

I went from London to Thailand to Australia to NZ to North America to London.

If the earth is flat, how exactly did I do that?  I do believe I have an acute sense of direction, we went the one way.  We did not "turn round" at any ice wall. Please, I am open minded, I would like to hear an explanation of this from someone who truly believes the world is flat.  Please, enlighten me.

Look at the logo for the Flat Earth Society at the top of the page.  On that flat earth it is quite easily to do what you have done.

In that picture australia is at an absolutly ridiculous proportion.  I have been there, driven a car from sydney to cairns, and it IS as big as the books say (unless the government had been fiddlling with my odometer!)....

What have I said to make you believe that I am a complete idiot?  All I said is that with the FE model at the top of the page it would be possible to go around the world like he did.

That's cool.  You didn't say what timescale you did it in.  I was merely pointing out that with that model it would be possible to go around the world like that.  However, I don't know how long it would take.

I do get the point.
The point is to prove the earth is flat.

I have yet to see any proof.

Why argue if -2ez-?

What have I said to try to prove the earth is flat?

Right there.

No, I was saying that on that model, it would be easy to do such a thing.  That is very far from trying to prove the earth to be flat.

perhaps there are factors that influence plane speeds that we don't know about, causing many people to blindly assume that the world is round? :)

Um, as someone who lives in australia, and have travelled to most parts of it in my lifetime, I can assure you it is nowhere near proportioned like on that map.... It seems we get the raw end of the bargain with this FE theory, it seems ours lovely country is about halved (at least) in size.... and im not sure that New Zealand (a short flight from sydney) is that far away, or that the 2 islands themselves are so ridiculously far apart!

Seriously, if i was an FE believer, I would try to come up with a more plausible map than that... can't you do one up with proper dimensions that doesnt just look like a squashed overview of the entire world (map)

Nice!! Another Aussie!!

I didnt even realise we were on that bloody map!, To be honest i thought we had the really short end of the stick because the FEers just dropped us off this so called 'edge' or 'ice wall'.

I agree with Rick, New Zealands islands are no where near that far apart.

And also.....i dont know what Europe seems to be connected to in the middle (nth america, antartica, greenland??), but whatever it is, you cannot get their by foot.

Like...O M G ! ! ! He is, like, totally using the gun as like some kind of sexual weapon. O M G ! ! That is like, totally awesome! ! !

Oh my god. You're right!!

However, I still thinks TE theory is the most relyable theory so far.

What makes you think they haven't??

On a serious note - the FE model is often interpreted as having continents at apporoximately their correct size, but the oceans of the southern hemisphere are vastly larger than conventional maps allow for. This is my personal conviction as well.
