I've modified the FAQ.

I've added this to the disclaimer:

In addition, please note that the FAQ should be considered a starting point.  It addresses many questions those new to FET have about the theory but in no way represents a comprehensive, all-encompassing view of the theory.  It should also be noted that not all points in the FAQ are necessarily agreed on by all FE proponents.

I got really tired of people saying things like "That's not what it says in the FAQ!" as if that's a valid point of debate.  I wanted to make it even clearer than it already was that the FAQ is not the be-all, end-all of FE theory, because so many people seem to take it for granted that that's what it's intended to be.  Now it's finally official for those too slow to understand it: FE FAQ != FE Bible.

Like most FEers (and many REers), I will continue to direct people to the FAQ if they ask a really obvious question that I feel is adequately answered there.  I just don't want people having the impression that all of the answers are there, or that all of the answers in the FAQ are supported by all FEers.

I recall someone was actually writing an entirely new FAQ that would attempt to provide a more comprehensive resource on FET. Has there been any more info on that?

Come to think of it, wouldn't it be really cool to have a FE Wiki? 

I'd love to see a FE wiki.  Dogplatter was talking about doing something like that a while back but it seems to have fizzled.  He's never even on here anymore.

Something like a Wiki would mean that you guys would have to unify your theories into one comprehensive one.  I have yet to see that happen, I started a thread to try and get the various people to chime in on their given theories and no one would respond except Jack.

If the traffic weren't likely to be as huge as I believe it would be, I would even offer to host a wiki. But, as C-Ray said, it would also require FE'ers to attempt to compile a more comprehensive theory + variants. Something that probably isn't going to happen.

The FAQ really, really should be the be all and end all. What you're propsing is akin to handing in a scientific paper that looks like it was written with a crayon in your mouth, and then saying "Well a-duh! It's only a starting point!"

The FAQ should be water tight. It's not. It's got more gaping holes than a seasoned porn queen.

Why?  Why should we treat one document as gospel?  It's not like it's impossible to make a mistake on it.  Besides, deeply going into detail would spawn an FAQ so huge it would be the noobs saying "tl, dr".

Are we able to adopt the FAQ from TNFES? It really is so much better.

Seriously read the faq with an unbiased eye, knowing what you do about tfes, then realize it is perfect. It trolled all of you.

Thank you both! (I wrote most of it.  )  Maybe I'll see about incorporating some elements from it into the FAQ here.  It has been ages since our FAQ has really been updated.

No magic required. I saw the link to the .net site posted by E.Jack before he edited his post. Looks like a diluted and less frequented but otherwise identical version of this site.

Something which is not in the F.A.Q needs to be pointed out... otherwise the doctrine of the Flat Earth Society would be in Jeopardy...

But it would be nice if some of those incosistancies and contradictions were resolved someday.  No use in having every noob on the net point out the same issues time after time.
