FE Theory: Philosophical masturbation, nothing more
« on: January 07, 2008, 08:19:45 AM »
Okay so the charade bores me.  I tried playing the game to see if I can get some serious, and well thought out responses but received little attention worth a damn.  Yes, the earth is round.  And every FE'er here KNOWS that the earth is round.  But they say they believe otherwise for 2 reasons:

1) They just like being an antogonist of impossible standards,

or

2) They miss their old college debate/philosophy clubs and want to wax poetic on impossible topics, playing the eternal devil's advocate, and see if they really can prove (even if only to themselves) the absolutely impossible with wordplay and mind games.

It's all amusement, none of it is fact, and frankly I applaud the FE'ers dedication to the cause.  But until they come up with actual, physical proof beyond random "Government conspiracy!" and "Um, the earth is moving...upward?  Yeah, upward!  That's it!" type statements, they will forever just be playing in the philosopher's ultimate sandbox.

Enjoy the castles you create here, my friends.  In the end, they're still made of sand.

Please define "actual, physical proof". What actual, physical proof do the round-Earthers have? That is something that I have yet to see.  You complain about the Flat Earther's arguments, when the Round Earther's arguments often border on the ridiculous.

What is the problem with the Earth moving upward? Round Earthers claim "Um, the Earth is spinning! Yeah, spinning! That's it!" Great. There is no physical proof for Dark Energy or Dark Matter, yet the current world view of the "greatest scientific minds" is based on these concepts. Is that also philosophical masturbation then?

And amazingly enough, Dark Energy and Dark Matter have nothing to do with RE ::)

One of the largest arguments, is a goddamned photo of Earth from space, perhaps? Conspiracy doesn't cross the line of ridiculousness for you, but the Earth spinning on its axis does?
Proof the Earth is round!

The conspiracy has made it impossible to adequately explain FE theory in English.

RE has MULTITUDES of proof...but FE just considers it a conspiracy...fake 'documentation' with fake 'results'.

Yes, the earth is round.
That's what you believe in.

1) I never thought critical thinking could be a bad thing.

2) Nope.

If there are physical proof to support the existence of a Conspiracy, how could it be a Conspiracy?

I could prove the Earth is accelerating upwards just by letting go my pen.

Enjoy the castles you create here, my friends.  In the end, they're still made of sand.
Enjoy the rest of your life believing the Earth is round, noob. In the end, it's still a belief.

When is the conspiracy used as evidence that the earth is flat?  Please link me to a post or provide a direct quote from the FAQ.  I'll admit your description of the site is pretty keen but you really don't understand the foundations of the theory.
