the truth is we are a grand biological experiment, dreamed up by some other life forms on the 'other side' of the fence. they mediate the behaviour of the masses by communicating with a select few groups - known as the government.
these privileged few get trips to the other side every now and then to maintain their silence, mental probes are maintained to allow these other life forms to intercept any spontaneous efforts to defect and provide information to the rest of us.
as we get closer and closer to the technological level required to perhaps pierce the grand illusion, the others will seed more violence and war to bring us back down. this is why sometimes it seems governments just wantonly destroy or instigate war, or indeed ignore what seems to everyone else 'common sense' ideas of treating each other with respect.
the truth is, if they dont have these artificial conflicts, the others will have to intervene directly, which might result in a complete 'restart' on the experiment - not a healthy option for most of us (including the government).
the fact is, our world is a large petri dish.
and what is the basic shape of a petri dish? a flat circle, surrounded by a boundary.
outside the ice boundary is another more advanced boundary, that actually provides for 4th dimensional travel (space, not time). this allows travel from one side of the rim to the other instantaneously. like a large game of pacman, going out one way, teleports you to the opposite edge.
so you see, it all connects.
