If the earth is accelerating upwards (whatever that means) at 1g, the "theory" is that gravity on earth is created by that acceleration, correct? And since the earth itself is not generating gravity, what is the sun orbiting around? are we to believe that the earth's magnetic north pole extends upwards into space (for 3000 miles)? and if so, why do falling objects fall towards the earth instead of falling north?

and does anyone here know what acceleration actually means? acceleration is an INCREASE in velocity!!! acceleration is NOT THE SAME THING as velocity...

9.8m/s acceleration is not the same thing as a 9.8m/s velocity! if the earth has been accelerating at 9.8m/s...its velocity by now would be some ridiculous number! that is a fact!

if we start at rest, after 1 second we're going 9.8m/s...after two seconds 19.6m/s and velocity is increasing by 9.8m/s every second!

for flat earth theory to work, the earth would need NO ACCELERATION...the problem is that since there's this hting called the second law of thermodynamics, so the earth should have slowed down by now...

Since the Earth is travelling at 9.8m/s/s, you are pressed into the ground by this acceleration. This exactly simulates gravity, and thus the penny is travelling at the same rate (give or take). When you drop the penny, it continues travelling at the same rate as before it was dropped. The Earth is accelerating underneath it, and thus catches up with the penny.

Yes, it is. You can do an experiment yourself by being in a car and tossing a ball in the air as you accelerate. I'm not going to explain the mechanics of it, because you learn them in elementary school and you should understand why it happens.
