i have a question about the gravity

in the FAQ ive read you guys do believe that earth is traveling upwards with a speed of
9.8m/s^2,so that means the earth is accelerating

if the earth goes faster and faster won't the gravity become larger and larger

Einstein offered an equivalence that seems to hold true. A person in a closed box cannot distinguish between constant acceleration and gravity of the same magnitude. The FE acceleration is said to be (without any underpinning) constant, so the perceived gravity would be constant.

i have physics you know and if they say 9m/s^2 they mean its going faster
if it was going 9m/s the speed was constant but now it isnt

You're an idiot if you've taken physics and don't get this part of the UA.  At a constant velocity in open space, you wont feel anything.  It's the acceleration that allows us to feel the force against the ground, and if that acceleration is constant, the force "down" is constant.

You should be paying attention to class, not posting on FES young man! And also, you have computers in all your classes?!

Let's try this again. Yes, acceleration means going faster, sometimes. It's more precisely a change in velocity. It's important to realize the velocity is a vector and speed is its magnitude. You may not have gotten that far yet in your studies, but trust us. Acceleration can be an increase in speed, a decrease in speed, a change in direction, and a host of combinations.

The FE holds that the acceleration is constant. That is we're going faster upwards at a constantly increasing rate. So it's about no change to the rate of change. You may want to ponder this some before posting again. Please feel free to ask any question and please ignore the insults. The people here take a lot of abuse and sometimes need to take a nap or something.

Hope that helps,
Gulliver

Well, all but math.  But, when I said right now, I didn't mean right now.  Just, like, the other right now.

In my day we didn't have computers in class!

Can't nap without a bedtime story. Tell me one of them proofs for RE

Well, okay but just one...

Tom Bishop says FE. Tom Bishop is wrong about everything. Ergo, RE.

Just to clear things up for you, Tom Bishop is a troll. He does not represent the views of the Flat Earth Society and his version of FE theory is quite often not in common with the real FE'ers version. There's no point arguing with him, it gets you nowhere and doesn't achieve anything. You don't "win" because you not even playing, so to speak.

Also that was a crap bedtime story, that can't send me to sleep, where's the princess?!

Help and spam are pretty much the same thing...oh wait no they're not. Whatever, so long as I help to make up for the spam.
