by the way... angle differences caused by refraction in the atmosphere would only cause these objects to appear even higher in the sky and not closer to the horizon.

One decent reason? Day and night.
The light from the Sun hits one side of the globe and not the other. On the line where the two cross there is twilight. As the globe "whirls" some of the world enters the light - entering morning - and some goes out of it - into the night.
Day and night in FE makes no sense at all. It makes perfect sense and proves RE when you assume that the Earth is round.

But this won't convince you, and posting it wasn't my purpoe to convince you. The purpose was to prove that even with irrefutable evidence you'll still be an FE troll.

So, you can prove me right about the Earth or prove me right about you being a stubborn FE troll. Choose.

Look kid, you gave yourself away when you claimed you could see the curvature of the earth at 17,000 feet.  It's okay..fess up and go on but if you claim things on this forum, you'd better be able to back it up.

By the time I had looked at this post again you had alredy said I had failed so what chance did I realy have. Any way wether or not I'm a pilot or not is IRELEEVENT so I don't know why you even  botherd arguing about it.

You would think that.  But they believe air is blue so it magically stops light dead in its tracks.  They also believe sunset the blue air goes to bed and red/orange air takes its place.

You can even see it on the beach as well on a clear day, regardless of any FE's bizzare and pointless claims.

I was going over a bridge yesterday and I could see the curvature in the horizon.  This notion that you can't is just hogwash.

It's all moot anyway.  Whether because of perspective or because of the curvature of the earth, we would see a curved circle going around us, flat or round.  No matter what direction we look in we will see the same distance.  It really proves nothing (if you accept the FE explanation of the horizon, ridiculous as it is).

Sorry, I choose not to believe that the curvature from left to right is visible below 60,000 ft. or so.

If you look at anything closely you can convince yourself of something that isn't there.  Someone posted a picture of the ocean with the horizon; I saw it dip in the middle, flat, and rise in the middle.  Eyes aren't very reliable.

Next time your in a tall building hold a ruler of a peice of paper next to the horizon. You can see it curvs.

People say they have done that and seen no curve.  Like Tom Bishop...

Edit:  Tom's supposed experience was from 30-40 000 ft though (I think) while flying.

Oh, and a RE'er has said that you can't see it from ground level over a large body of water [in this case lake Michigin (or another great lake) which covered the horizon].  Just to put it out there.

Why should I believe in a Round Earth if my own senses tells me it is flat?

You're saying when you look out at the horizon it would appear that the Earth is flat. So you're saying that you trust your sense of sight. Now the earth (in the round way) is HUGE so you can't just see out and tell the earth is round. Also what about the horizon, what if you're below sea level or up real high, what if the horizon appears flat or if it is round. If you continue to walk and walk (and swim) in one direction you'll end up right back to the same location.
