Because it's not that close.

But that screws up your FE'er friend Tom Bishops anwser in another thread where he states the sun is close.

Compared to 149,598,000 kilometers, the sun is "close".

By "close," I really doubt that he meant thirty-thousand feet away.

I didn't quote numbers because he never gives them. But when he said small, it suggests it has to be really really close to perform its functions at its peak.

149,598,000 kilometers is the distance from the Earth to the Sun in RE (it's called an Astronomical Unit, or AU for short).  In FE, the distance between the Earth and the Sun is considerably less.

Then what is it in FE?  I mean the ever friendly tom seems to reject giving out information so perhaps you will?

There's a reason behind him not giving out numbers.
Straight from the FAQ:
Quote from: "The FAQ"
Q: "What about the stars, sun and moon and other planets? Are they flat too? What are they made of?"

A: The sun and moon, each 32 miles in diameter, circle Earth at a height of 3000 miles at its equator, located midway between the North Pole and the ice wall. Each functions similar to a "spotlight," with the sun radiating "hot light," the moon "cold light." As they are spotlights, they only give light out over a certain are which explains why some parts of the Earth are dark when others are light. Their apparent rising and setting are caused by optical illusions.

yeah that whole appearing as rising and setting...can you explain that more...saying its an optical illusion does not explain it...thats just making something up.

Wow  for once I must give you some sort of award I believe your the first Fe'er to give out information. True it's an FAQ quote  but it's more then I've ever gotten out of tom.

With that said however I find that really hard to believe. I mean for a major part can you explain why the moon is bigger then the sun yet the same size and distance from us?

I don't know whether this is a FE/RE inquiry, or whether it's an aspect of physics to which I am unfamiliar, but what exactly is the "cold light" projected by the moon?

Doesn't light as energy cause increased molecular vibration, and heat?  How is it possible for light to cause a decrease in temperature?

It's not actually COLD, but it's just not as hot as the light, say, from the sun. It doesn't take away temperature, but it doesn't drastically add heat either.

Has anybody noticed that a standard domestic flight is up around 12,000 feet in the air?  That would place you about 3 times as high as the sun.

Ok so then lets pretend altimetres are the devil designed from the conspiritors.

What about sky divers?  Can't they time their jumps?  Go tandum, i bet you could easily test this 3500 feet high sun theory with your own, NON conspiricy watch.  Take pictures of you near the sun?  Amaze your friends.
