If the entire contents of the universe are accelerating upwards at 1g, then the "Big Bang" theory would not work for the FE model.

Think about it, it's space, which means that there is almost nil resistance in any direction. Any explosion would be spherical in nature. Which means the force of that explosion is spherical.

How can everything be accelerating upward if everything was pushed outward in all directions?

As well, after reading your FAQ, to have a complete theory you need to be able to answer the most basic questions. Why have you left some of these questions unanswered? The coriolis effect? Why the hull of a ship disappears over the horizon before the mast? These are proven effects of a round earth.  To not have an explanation for these questions, leaves holes wide enough in your theory to fly a 747 through.


Edit: And for the record, if the earth is accelerating upward at 1g, and someone jumped off the side of a Flat-Earth it would not accelerate upward past you. Because you would be moving at the same speed relative to the earth itself, you would stay in position floating beside it.

Remember, there's no air resistance in space, so would stay at that same acceleration.

No, a link to the FAQ is not an acceptable answer. You should be able to argue the point effectively yourself.

Or, why are the contents of the universe accelerating upward if the universe was created by the big bang? The explosion would be spherical, which would mean that the contents would be expanding in all directions.

How can you tell everything is accelerating upward anyway? There is no direction in space.

Tom wants it so much to be a matter of perspective because when he hit age 50 he got unnaturally fat and slowly watched as the base of his penis disappeared over the horizon of his gigantic gut, followed by the rest of it. He couldn't accept this and therefore spent the next decade browsing the internet in his mom's basement until he discovered an alibi.

Good one, though it doesn't explain it. Perspective is only part. Yes, as things get further away, they get smaller and smaller until they disappear. But only as they pass the curvature of the earth, will it seem to sink into the water.

This is what happens with a ship.

If it was just getting further and further away it would get smaller, the mast would disappear because it's the thinnest part of the ship, then the hull would disappear.

What actually happens is that the ship passes the curvature of the earth and seems to descend into the water. The hull goes first, and the mast follows. On the open ocean you can actually see far enough on a clear day to discern the curve of the earth. If the earth was flat (which it's not) you would be able to see a ship much further than you can, because it does go over the horizon.

Those images make no sense, the line should be drawn from C to H (for the woman and lamp post). If that detail weren't on the picture (base of the lamp post, woman's dress), how would you know to draw the line from that position?

There is no consistancy in those models, you compress the bottom of the picture into a single point. If the base of the lamp post were taller, you would be compressing a completely different section of it. The base of the lamp post loses its proportionality with the rest of the lamp post as the image progresses backwards.

If you were precisely at ground/sea level, the closest part of the lamp/ship to you would be the base, and hence it would be the most clearly visible part. In practise this is only the case for short distances; in long distances curvature kicks in.

Gravitation between objects still exists in the flat earth model. It's a side effect of the acceleration of mass. See the Equivalence Principle.
