Why do you believe the Earth is flat?
« on: November 27, 2009, 09:30:57 PM »
The reason I believe that the Earth is round is because of, yes, what I was taught in school, and also from videos I have seen of astronauts in LEO or even further out. All the physics I have been taught throughout life work perfectly with the RE theory (if not out-right fact). There would be no crescent moons if the moon was in fact flat as some here believe, there would be no curvature to the Earth when you go a certain distance up (I have witnessed this myself). If the Earth were flat, where does gravity come from? FEers cannot answer this question, at least IMHO, while today's theories and mathematics explain them perfectly when it comes to the Earth being spherical. How can you fly around the world and back with the Earth being flat and having edges? And in order to pull this conspiracy off, the worlds leaders would have had to keep millions and millions of people over the past 500 years completely silent on the matter, which is extremely extremely extremely unlikely.

Now since I answered the question that I know you would have asked me, answer mine please. Why do you believe the Earth is flat?

Any sane man, after reading the evidence presented on this site, would always believe in the Flat Earth Model.

Where is the FAQ?

It's a pinned topic near the top of the page.
"I want truth for truth's sake, not for the applaud or approval of men. I would not reject truth because it is unpopular, nor accept error because it is popular. I should rather be right and stand alone than run with the multitude and be wrong." - C.S. DeFord

:D :D :D :D That's funny man. You're a fucking comedian. Keep the jokes coming. Constellation gears? An anti-moon? A self-luminous moon? A flat earth? The earth accelerating upwards from an unknown force from below? A huge icewall? The sun and moon being the same size and being the same distance from the Earth and still being able to go in between each other? This has got to be a joke. Oh...... you're serious. I feel sorry for you and anyone else who believes this utter crap.

I agree with Waste of Mind. I've seen nothing that would convince me to disbelieve my own eyes or senses.

Your own eyes and senses would tell you that the earth cannot be flat if you observe a ship sinking over the horizon.
Your own eyes and senses would tell you the earth cannot be flat if there are two celestial poles and all the stars remain the same angular distance from each other.
You don't need to use second hand evidence to see that a flat earth is toss. Switch your brain on.

I'm no authority on logical fallacies, but this statement made me think of this:

By eliminating all present contradicting possibilities you would arrive at the present truth. It's impossible to arrive at a future truth.
