Flat Earth Q&A / Re: What do FE'ers think of dinosaurs?
« on: December 22, 2009, 10:32:01 PM »
I'm sorry, but the dinosaurs certainly did not co-exist with humans. Your faith may compel you to believe it, but I am afraid the evidence does not.

And you're right, the dinosaurs were not killed by a giant meteor. Some overpopulated themselves, others may have destroyed themselves with their own technology, others still evolved into the birds we see around us today.

What technology did dinosaurs have?

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: How was the Flat Earth created?

I think I've read somewhere on these forums, one FE'er said that the Earth was just always there. Something like that. I can't really remember though, not sure if I understood what he said or I dreamt it or something. It doesn't make sense at all though (as don't most of their theories), that's why I'm not sure if I'm correct or if I actually read that or understood it properly.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: A Few Questions...

See the Flat Earth Encyclopedia for each of your inquiries:

Ah Thank You.
This answers several of my questions, however I am still confused as to how the formation of earth occured. The Encyclopedia discusses volcanos and mountains, but it says nothing about the composition/formation of the earth itself.

Hello,

I'm new to this site and I had a few questions about flat earth theory. I tried looking through the other threads for the answers to these questions, but there seem to be conflicting opinions.

1. Several threads contain information claiming that lunar eclipses are the result of an "undetectable" object known as the antimoon passing between the sun and the moon. However, in other threads, I've read that the moon is at a lower altitude than the sun. So my two questions relating to this are:

     a. What are the altitudes of the sun and the moon, and, if the moon is below the sun, how does the antimoon theory work? The moon and sun are at the same height, until of course a solar eclipse happens, then the moon mysteriously lowers it's elevation just enough to go in front of the sun.

     b. How is it that we cannot observe the antimoon at any time other than during a lunar eclipse? If the antimoon is closer to us than the moon, then should we not be able to see it, at least through a telescope? Or does it not have reflective properties? Please Explain. The anti-moon is invisible, until the point where it has to to pass in front of the sun in order to block out the moon, then it turns to a solid mass. Also, since we cannot see it until it casts a shadow onto the moon, that is evidence that it is invisible up until a certain point.

2. How does the "perspective effect", pertaining to the sunset/sunrise, work? If the sun were really at a fixed point above a flat earth, wouldn't it appear to shrink/grow rather than set/rise? Could I maybe get some math on this? Label "perspective". Perspective could mean one of many things. I am too lazy to label the other meanings, so I will assume I have proved this theory right.

3. According to flat earth theory, is the sun a star? If so, does that mean that the stars we see in the night sky are all orbiting around "flat planets"? Or is Earth the one and only exception? That's like asking "Do fat boys love cake a lot?" Of course Earth is the only planet, we are "special" and one of a kind. I have no reason to believe this, except for my own beliefs, so I will label this another win on my part.

4. Is there any information on how celestial formation operates based on flat earth theory? How is it that the earth formed as a cylinder, but the moon, sun, and other planets formed as spheres? Money.

Thank you in advance.

I hope I put your ridiculous questions to rest with my far superior brain.

You need to open your mind and stop trying to disprove theories that you don't even understand.

I'm a RE'er, I'm just giving you the run of the mill answers that most of the FE'ers give.

"Prove it" seems to be some of their last ditch attempts to salvage some form of credibility from their ridiculous theories when they have been picked apart. I don't get it when they say that though, I'd imagine the owness is on them to prove the Earth is flat. It seems that it's already been proven that the Earth is round, so they have to convince otherwise.

I guess I can assume FES has no answer for this?  ???

They probably think penguins are in on the conspiracy aswell.

Flat Earth Q&A / Pen experiment
« on: December 20, 2009, 03:12:40 PM »
If I place a pen on the table, with over half of it hanging off the edge, the pen will fall. If there is no gravity and the Earth is really accelerating, shouldn't it just stick to the table? Why/How does it fall down?

I actually started out asking about this very thing...

Oh wow. I'm new aswell, so I'm still not really sure on all the details of what FE'ers believe. Some wierd theories they have too.

So the FE'ers say there is no gravity? What keeps us here, on the ground is that the Earth is constantly accelerating.

So if I jump of a tall building, I would not infact move. I would not fall to my death, rather I would be stationary and the Earth would just slam into me. So how is the wind generated, well rather, why is there resistance? My hair would blowing, my clothes would be blowing up because of the resistance. But supposedly, I'm not moving. If there is no gravity, I should be floating there with no resistance and my hair, clothes, etc would not be blowen upwards. So where does this resistance come from?

I'm new, but I believe the air is also being accelerated upward. Wind resistance and what-not is still in effect. The acceleration is a constant on all molecules and particles on Earth.

Correct me if I am wrong, Flat Earthers (although, I think they may be quite tired of this topic  ;))

Ah ok. Makes sense I guess.
