You are wrong. Here is proof:

You = wrong

Rowbothams experiments are beautiful and holy and unmistakably correct because they marry up to FET, to say otherwise is blasphemy.

Can you prove the Earth is round?

NOTE: Pictures don't count, they can be doctored.
the fact that the sun sets

Majority rules my friends. Sorry to tell you but as much as you think the earth is flat it won't change a damn thing.
Just thought I had to remind you all.
truth isn't a democracy

Flat Earth Debate / Re: The FE sun is impossible
« on: November 04, 2007, 12:31:16 PM »
The simple answer, alaska, is:
The whole FET regarding the FE sun is bizzare, complicated, unscientific and cannot work. You won't get an answer because FET does not have one.

I have yet to see a problem with the FE sun.
it shoulden't set if the earth is flat

As for Divito the fascist's post, I fail to see how the RE model defends the FE model...

I was just outlining that the sun doesn't "set;" it just ceases to be in view.
the "setting sun" is just a metaphor. it doesn't literally set, it just goes out of our view

Flat Earth Q&A / FEers, prove to me the earth is flat

go on, prove it. prove to me that the earth is in fact flat

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Debate: Tides
« on: October 06, 2007, 07:43:09 AM »
The moon cannot account for such variation in multiple places on RE.

You're right.  It can't, and it doesn't.

The amount of tidal variation a location will experience is due to the geography of the ocean floor, and the shape of the beach.  Which is why some places can have 10-meter tides, while other places can barely experience them.

The moon and sun are what cause the tides to occur in the first place, but the amount of tidal variation is more dependant on local effects (i.e. UA).

 ;D
the tides are STILL caused by the moon's gravity.

What causes FE Tides?  As background info, here is the explanation of RE tides:

its very simple.
see, God for some reason or another likes tides. He makes the tides go in and out. How much sense does this make? about as much sense as saying the world was created last thursday

Flat Earth Debate / Re: RE floating oceans.
« on: October 06, 2007, 07:33:29 AM »
Let us consider the RE model, and please no giggling.

Their oceans. Consider a molecule of water anywhere in the ocean.

How much does this water molecule weigh?
How much volume does this water molecule displace?

What then is its buoyancy force?

Go ahead, figure it out... okay be lazy and I'll explain it. Every molecule in the ocean is perfectly buoyant. That is to say the buoyancy force is exactly opposite to the gravity force on it. This means the oceans are free from gravity.

Perplexed? Of course you are, you have never seen our oceans floating around our world like giant liquid clouds. They fill their container, starting from the lowest possible point. This can only be if the container is pushed into them. The earth MUST be accelerating into our oceans to prevent them from floating away.

Another victory for FE!!!
your stupidity astounds me. Oceans dont float in the air because they are made of matter. The earth's gravitational forces keep them from floating away.

Star distance is measured with red shift.
the distance to ultra distant galaxies is measured with redshift. Nearby stars are measured with parallax

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Why do you think the earth is flat?
« on: October 06, 2007, 07:19:09 AM »
Did you know since the time of ancient hominids, the Earth was known to be flat?
that was because that idea was based on extremely limited observation. The ground must be flat, therefore the earth must be flat.
however, shadows have a slight curvature to them. the ancient greeks used this to figure out the earth is round and estimated the circumfrence of the earth to within about 10% accuracy

It baffles me as to how a person, sane or insane, can actually think the earth is flat.

You do know that since the time of the ancient greeks, we've known for a fact the earth is round right?

UPDATED

If the universe is really that small, then how is it that we can use parallax to measure the distances to stars which are thousands of light years away?

14
that's an excellent question worthy of answering

the answer is the earth is not flat dummy :P

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Proof of FE
« on: September 03, 2007, 09:08:49 AM »
I see I must dumb my proof down.. Commence dumbing:

1: The earth's curve is the total of all of its parts
2: If its parts do not add up to the sum of a complete circle, the earth is not round
3: It has been shown (see above) that there is no curve between france and romania
4: The earth is not round

You have to be an idiot to believe in a round earth...

be an idiot to believe in a round earth? let me ask you, where did you hear this ridiculous load of bullshit? really, how can anyone be this retarded. did you fail science class? were you in 3rd grade and you coulden't understand science you just said "fuck it, I'll just drop out of school"

honestly, are you retarded? that isn't a rhetorical question, are you retarded? cuz a retarded person could tell you that people have gone into outer space and have seen the earth is clearly a sphere.

really, the entire idea of a flat earth and people actually believing this bullshit is mind-boggeling.

really, I had a hard time understanding that people believe that the earth is 6000 years old, but flat? I think I might kill myself cuz people can be so stupid in this world

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Ferdinand Magellan proved the earth is round...

so, ferdinand magellan circumnavigating the globe was a fabrication?

Flat Earth Debate / Ferdinand Magellan proved the earth is round...
« on: September 03, 2007, 06:37:31 AM »
so, yeah. he circumnavigated the globe thus proving that the earth is round.

I dont know if you've heard, but people have actually gone into space and observed that the earth is spherical

I dont know if you've heard, but its impossible for the earth to be flat cuz gravitational forces would warp the earth into the shape of a sphere
