If there is a government conspiracy to stop anyone seeing the Ice Wall, how do you know there is one?
-
There isn't one. You can see the ice wall whenever you want.
-
That's true! In fact, one of our own has actually seen it with his own eyes and photographed it! You can see his account of the trip here: http://theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=5829.0 (http://theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=5829.0)

Those pictures by the way... nice try.
All Googled and I've seen 'em before in books.
Where is this so-called "icewall" again?
-
Around the edge of the earth. ::)
-
It's real big, and made out of this stuff that's kinda like frozen water. What's the word. Oh yes... ice. Can't miss it.
-
How can you prove that it exists?
-
Go south. If you hit a wall of ice that never ends, you found it.
-
Prove that it never ends. How do you know it's not a continent?
-
Because James Clark Ross reports a circumference of 60,000 miles.
How do you know it is a continent?
-
Who is James Clark Ross...?
Never heard of em.
Sounds like a load of bull
-
Let me clear this up:
The Ice Wall is constantly being guarded by millions of thugs, none of whom have ever thought to ask why they are guarding it. Anyone who ventures too close and sees it gets killed.
-
It can be a continent if you want it to, but it's not in the usual formation of them. It's quite simple, it is known that there is ice in the far south. The shape of this ice (with land underneath for those who want to go into technicallities) is what is sketchy. It is said to be a continent surrounded by water, but this wont work for the FE theory. The ice must take the roll of the water, and the water that of the land. So you get the conclusion of a wall of ice with water within it (out of common sense). I don't see why you're doubting the existence of Antarctica/the Ice Wall.

You are retarded.
-
Ok better question. Why is there an ice wall?
-
Because James Clark Ross reports a circumference of 60,000 miles.
How do you know it is a continent?
could you, uh, maybe provide some sort of source that shows that, or when and where, he actually said/reported that

Let me get this straight...
In FE Antarctica is the ice wall? There is no Antarctica but instead that wall of ice around the edge of the Earth?
-
How did the ice wall form?
-
How did the ice wall form?
No idea but it would be disastrous if it were to fail (In the FE model that is)
-

Yes, Antarctica is the Ice Wall.
How did the ice wall form?
Open space is cold. The common sense conclusion is that when water approached the edge of the earth, it froze from the cold temperatures. That means the ice wall also can't melt entirely as long as there is water within it, and no insane new heat source arrises.

Yes, Antarctica is the Ice Wall.
So what about these people that have been there and the holiday comapanies running trips there? If I book one will I get bribed millions upon millions to say that it's not an ice wall?
Hmm. Interesting...
*Packs bags and finds passport.*
To the ice wall!
-
You're not getting it. Unless you can manage to traval hundreds, or even thousands (the thickness of the wall is unkown) of miles into the wall, than you're not going to see that it is a wall. You'll just see it as Antarctica.
-
Maybe you should draw some pictures to help explain it Mr. Ireland

It seems to be you who's not getting it. People have literally hiked, flown, driven or ridden across Antarctica to the water on the other side. Did the people who've done this - alone, no companies diverting them - all take a wrong turning the same way and ended up by the Sea on the other side of the world in a time far too short to be possible? Rather far fetched if you ask me...
-
More far fetched to think that you could traval in a straight line in an area where compasses lie.
And I'm not much for drawing anymore, I dropped art years ago.
-

According to FE compasses shouldn't even work anywhere.
-
Why not? The FE has magnetic poles. After all, we are supposedly living on a flat earth.

How so?

I don't know. But then again, I'm not an FEer so I wouldn't.
Back to Mr. Ireland, yes that is alot - a hell of a lot - more far fetched than people driving. Also, how can you explain that people can travel across Antarctica in the time it would take to travel across it in RE and end up on the opposite hemispere but in FE they can go half way round the entire circumference of the planet's edge in that time to get to the same place as if the Earth was round?

If that were true the ice wall would be more like giant icicles hanging from the edge of the earth rather than a wall, is this what it is like.

They didn't take a wrong turn. They are all bribed liars.

Tom Bishop and the other FE-ers have just proven that there is no need for guarding the Ice Wall. This is the line of deduction that lead me to that conclusion:
1. Because FE-ers were and are still not able to give a solution to the following problem (http://theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=13330.0 (http://theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=13330.0)), they had to accept that the Flat Earth is spanning infinitely. They used the argument that even the book
Earth: Not a Globe (http://www.sacred-texts.com/earth/za/za22.htm) confirms that the Earth may be infinite;
2. Now that they have accepted an infinite FE, it is unnecessary to presume that an edge of the world exists, so this answer in the FAQ is not true:
Q: "If the world was really flat, what would happen if you jump off the disc's edge?"
A: You would enter an inertial reference frame, moving at a constant velocity in the direction the Earth was moving before you jumped. The Earth would continue accelerating upwards past you at a rate of 1g, so it would appear to you that you were falling into space.
Therefore, everyone who tries to go south will continue indefinitely in a windy and icy environment and eventually die. If she wants to survive, she must turn back and admit she hasn’t crossed the Antarctica continent.
3. The guards of the Ice Wall were supposed to keep you from seeing it. Why? If you see bunch of Ice sticking out of the Southern Sees, you would think that’s Antarctitica. If you went to take a walk in the Ice, you would find yourself in a situation described under point 2.
I do not even want to mention the difficulties arising from an infinite rotating plane.

Essentially, do it yourself and the FE'ers might believe you.
If that were true the ice wall would be more like giant icicles hanging from the edge of the earth rather than a wall, is this what it is like.
If it were finite, than yes. But the infinite idea is confusing me.

Don't be an idiot...
Serious answers, please.
-
I AM serious!
Studies estimate about 2 out of 3 people have been bribed by the conspiracy at one point or another.

Oh.
Then the men in white coats are coming for you.

I get it...you're part of the conspiracy aren't you?

Evil Toothpaste says it doesn't matter anyway because coastlines are fractals that just get longer the closer you get to them. ;D
I measured with Google Earth and got a perimeter length of around 11,500. Of course, Google assumes a round earth, and also this was from relatively high up (fractals, remember). ::)

Fuck that was a stupid statement... Because we all know to make something bigger just get closer; but be sure not to bring measuring equipment as you get closer, or it stays the same size.

I've seen the great wall of the eternal dark ice in the back wall of my freezer/killer fridge.
