We are moving into the era of space tourism.   One of the few universal beliefs of FEers that I have seen is that space travel is a hoax, and that a huge conspiracy is in effect to keep the hoax going.  I am curious as to how this "hoax" will be maintained as more and more people that are not affiliated with space programs are going to be going to space.  How will they be brought into the hoax or duped?

Flat Earth General / Why?

Spacex launched 61 flights into orbit in 2022.  If these flights have no purpose other than to crash into the ocean, why would a private for profit company carry out such a massively expensive worthless exercise?  If there is some kind of illusion that they are trying to hype on the world, why not just do 5 or 6 in a year?   How can any company justify that kind of expense to it's shareholders?

Flat Earth General / Flat earth directions

I posted a map of flat Earth directions from reddit.  The map was moved by an admin to complete nonsense.  I agree that it is complete nonsense in the sense that I believe  a flat Earth is complete nonsense. But, the map itself is entirely accurate as far as directions that would have to be if you believe in the standard North Pole centered flat Earth map.  If you head due East or due West, you are actually heading South and eventually hit the so called "ice wall". 
For some reason posting the map itself will get this post removed.  So, I'll just ask the question.  On a flat Earth don't all straight roads (except those heading due North) eventually hit the Southern ice wall?  Even going due North, you will go through the North Pole and wind up going South to the ice wall.

Flat Earth General / James Webb Telescope

Well, the James Webb Telescope has launched.  There are so many questions I have for FEers about this.  First, where does the rocket go if not into space?  This is a joint project of multiple countries.  How does NASA work the conspiracy with the other countries?  There are many other questions but can any FEer give me a real answer that makes sense.  I doubt it.

Flat Earth General / Lunar Eclipse coming

NASA is predicting that the longest lunar eclipse of the century will occur on Nov 19th.  They predict the eclipse will last 3 hours 28 minutes and 23 seconds.

The predictions of eclipses are based on the RE model.  If such a precise prediction comes to pass accurately, which can be so easily checked by looking at the eclipse and looking at your watch, does that not definitively confirm the RE model? 
If not can someone from the FE community predict the eclipse using the FE model?  And please tell me how you did it.  By the way, NASA also predicted the next 179 eclipses over the next 80 years.  Can a proponent of the FE dare to make such a prediction?

You can prove the Earth is flat.  True it would take a bit of money, but it includes some vacation time.  Maybe you can get some rich NBA basketball player to help fund it.

So now the era of space tourism has begun.  The conspiracy is way beyond NASA. It involves many countries and corporations, and now people unaffiliated with any corporation or country can book a flight into space.   At what point does this conspiracy stuff end.  A flat Earther can book a trip to Antarctica, can book a trip on a flight in the Southern Hemisphere that by their beliefs cannot exist, and now can book a flight into space.  A flat Earther can look through a telescope or high powered binoculars and see the International Space Station.  No one is stopping anyone from doing any of these things.

Flat Earth General / Can't figure it out

I am trying to understand the FE model, but it just doesn't make sense.   Can someone explain this to me?  The Sun rises in the East.  Let's say it is the equinox, and the sun will rise due East and set due West.  Please don't argue with me about whether this is true.  We can see it with our own eyes.  So, if the Earth is flat and I watch the Sun set (or leave) in the West at 7:34 PM here in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.   To my friend in Jerusalem, Israel, the time is 7 hours later or 2:34 AM in the morning.   In Jerusalem the Sun will rise in the morning at 5:41 AM.   This means that 3 hours after the Sun sets for me in the West,  The Sun must rise (or arrive) from the East for my friend in Jerusalem.   How can the Sun travel that distance in that short length of time.  It is easy to see how it works with a RE, but makes no sense to me with a FE.  Anyone have a real explanation for this?  Please don't debate word minutia.  I am interested in an explanation.

I am trying to understand FE theory.  To be honest my questions never seem to get answered acceptably.  Here are two very specific ones.
1. What is the speed of the Sun as it moves over the Earth?
2.  What is the distance of the Sun to an observer, when it sets?

Flat Earth General / Two sunsets

So I flew from North Carolina to Pennsylvania the other day.  I was looking West from the airport terminal, and watched the sunset.  The sunset was completely done and it was dark when the plane took off.  I cannot tell you the cruising altitude of the plane, but by the time it leveled off, there it was for the second time;  The sunset.  The Earth being a globe affords a simple explanation for this phenomenon.   Flat Earthers say that the sun can't be seen due to its distance, and the density of the air makes it vanish earlier when you are on the ground.  Can someone from the Flat Earth community tell me how far away the sun is when it vanishes from full size to nothing within minutes?  And, why can't I continue to see the sun if I use these high powered binoculars that my cousin gave me if it is the distance that causes the sun to vanish.

 I want to discuss the ice wall, but first, I need a clear understanding of what FEers believe it to be.  What is the latitude of the ice wall?   If latitude does not exist in the FE model, how far in miles or kilometers South of the Southern tip of Africa, or the Southern tip of South America is the ice wall?  Also, how tall is it?  Does it go up as high as the "dome"?
Is there a land mass under the ice wall, or does it rise up out of the sea?

If Gravity does not exist, and it is the "upward" acceleration that causes us to stay put on the planet, why do objects have different weights?   Why would a balloon filled with helium float upward?

So now we have a comet that can be seen from Earth.  A question to FEers.  What is the comet?  Is it under the dome or outside the dome.  Does it circle the Earth as you believe the sun and the moon do?

Flat Earth Debate / Solar eclipse on Sunday

So I will be the first to admit that it is beyond my astronomy abilities to predict a solar eclipse.  However, scientists/mathematicians have predicted with tremendous precision the time (down to the second) the arrival of the eclipse in different places in the world.  Sadly it will not be visible from where I am.  I can tell you that the last eclipse back in 2017 occurred at exactly the moment it was predicted, as I saw it happen with my own eyes.  The predictions of eclipses are based on the round Earth model.  Can a flat Earther  here explain to me how you would predict an eclipse?  Are those scientists/mathematicians actually using a flat earth model and lying to us?

Can an FEer here give me an experiment that I can do with limited resources that would prove the Earth is Flat.  I am not talking about an experiment that might work if the Earth was either flat or round, but one that would only work if the Earth was flat.
Can you give me something that I can do, where I will say.  Wow, the Earth must be flat for this to happen.

I remember seeing an animated gif of the sun circling a map of the flat Earth.  Can someone point me to where that is? 
I can't wrap my head around how sunrises and sunsets wouldn't be happening in the wrong places when the Sun circles a flat Earth.

Flat Earth General / Tides

Enjoying a beautiful sunrise on the beach this morning.  All my observations of the sunrise tell me that the Earth is round and rotating; That model, fits perfectly with what I am seeing. 
But, there are other observations that I can make here. I can go to a website and find the exact time for high and low tide.  The calculations are all based on the Earth and moon being spheres, and the positions of the two relative to each other.  I can see plainly that the predicted times for high and low tide are correct.
With a flat Earth model, how can these tides be predicted, and in fact, how do these tides happen at all?

I've been looking at some of the weather satellite pictures tracking hurricane Dorian.   Just to understand the FE position on this.  You guys think that there are no satellites right?
How are these images that are used to so accurately track storm systems created?  Is there an enormous fleet of planes that fly around the clock above the clouds returning images of the entire planet?  How is this tracking accomplished without satellites?  A massive fleet of planes and a massive amount of manpower would be needed if it were done by non orbiting aircraft. 
Please give a reasonable response to this question.
