Philosophy, Religion & Society / Spanner34.5 is Jesus.

A few years ago, I visited the blood donation clinic for one of my regular visits. On entry we log in at reception. The first communication I had with the doctor/nurse was to inform me, I was dead, so my blood was not taken. I argued with the medically  qualified person well enough for my blood to be taken.
Obviously, coming back to life so quickly, it must have been the second coming.
This obviously means I am Jesus.

Flat Earth Q&A / Is the dinosaur paradox final proof of the flat earth?
« on: September 06, 2012, 07:57:57 AM »
It was impossible for the largest dinosaurs to have supported their own weight under round earth conditions as there is no mechanism for round earth gravity to have varied over the ages.

The U.A., in the past, may have been a lower force, gravitation would have been lower than today, so under flat earth conditions the larger dinosaurs could have existed.

Please discuss.

The Declaration of Independence was not only illegal, but actually treasonable. There is no legal principle then or now to allow a group of citizens to establish their own laws because they want to. What if Texas decided today it wanted to secede from the Union?

Lincoln made the case against secession and he was right. The Declaration of Independence itself, in the absence of any recognised legal basis, had to appeal to "natural law", an undefined concept, and to "self-evident truths", that is to say truths for which no evidence could be provided.

The grievances listed in the Declaration were too trivial to justify secession. The main one - no taxation without representation - was no more than a wish on the part of the colonists, to avoid paying for the expense of protecting them against the French during seven years of arduous war and conflict.

Flat Earth Q&A / Highest mountain?
« on: February 21, 2011, 06:10:38 AM »
Round earth theorists state that Everest is the highest mountain above sea level. However Chimborazo is the highest above the Earth's centre.

Which is the highest point on the flat Earth?

According to research conducted by an English College professor, America did not take its name from Amerigo Vespucci, but from a senior collector of Customs at Bristol, the main port from which English voyages of discovery sailed in the late 15th century. Dr. Basil Cottle, who is himself of Welsh birth, tells us that the official was Richard Amerik, one of the chief investors in the second transatlantic voyage of John Cabot, which led to the famous navigator receiving the King's Pension for his discoveries.

John Cabot landed in the New World in May 1497, becoming the first recorded European to set foot on American soil. As far as Amerik's Welsh connection is concerned, the word "Amerik" itself seems to be derived from ap Meuric, Welsh for the son of Maurice. (The later was anglicized further to Morris). There was a large Welsh population in Bristol in the late 15th century.

The RSPCA has said it will be speaking to a woman caught on CCTV dumping a cat into a wheelie bin in Coventry.

Lola, a four-year-old tabby, was discovered 15 hours later by owner Darryl Mann after he heard her cries.

He then checked his security cameras and saw footage of the woman first stroking Lola and then grabbing her by the neck and throwing her in the bin.

Police said they had identified the woman and community support officers had been stationed outside her home.

I thought she might have got in herself - she's not the brightest cat”

Darryl Man, cat owner
Mr Mann, 26, of Brays Lane, said he had not noticed that Lola had been missing.

"She is a night cat. We sometimes don't see her in the day unless she comes in for food."

He said he had been going out to his car on Sunday morning when he heard her meowing.

"I thought at first she was under the car. But then I found her in the bin."

He later checked his CCTV, which he installed for security reasons, to see how Lola had ended up in the bin.

"I thought she might have got in herself - she's not the brightest cat.

"It's disgusting, she's a lovely cat... she'd never hurt anyone.

Large crowd
"I don't know how someone could do it to such a defenceless animal.

"Obviously, we had to go through a good few hours of video footage, but... within a couple of hours we had it on the internet."

West Midlands Police said they received a call on Sunday evening reporting what had happened.

They said the actions caught on CCTV could constitute an animal cruelty offence because of the likely suffering caused to the cat.

The force said it was supporting the RSPCA investigation and urged the public to leave the matter to the authorities.

It said a large crowd had gathered outside the woman's home and police community support officers were there to monitor the situation.

"Media speculation that the woman is being given police protection is categorically not the case," it added.

"Community support officers are outside the woman's address monitoring a large group of people - most of them from the media - for public order purposes as per routine police procedure."

It said the RSPCA was due to talk to the woman shortly.
