Images from space.. *56K warning*

To start things off here's a panoramic view from the top of Everest just because I think it kicks ass:
http://www.panoramas.dk/fullscreen2/full22.html

Moving on, here is a orbital picture of Chile in South America:

Here is a view of Somalia:

A beautiful view of the southern tip of Greenland:

An incredible picture of the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia:

Last but not least, a nearly complete view of Antarctica:

6MB, 2450 x 2200 resolution tif available: http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/tiff/PIA00117.tif

The obvious question is how does a flat earth theory account for visual confirmation of the Earth being round?

Your pictures are both annoyingly large and obviously fake. I really wish you'd have taken the time to resize them.

Could you explain why they're obviously fake?

Those look incredibly non-fake to me.  Yes, I agree about the resizing though.

you make me so mad, you're obviously like three fucking years old.

If we showed you a real looking picture proving that the earth was flat, then you'd believe it, but not ones proving that the earth is round. Ohhhh noooo. Why? cause you're a narrow minded shit.

You're quite stuck up for someone who believes the Earth is flat.  If you went into space for yourself and saw a spherical Earth, you would deny it.  Because you love your conspiracy theories.

Oh right, sorry about that then.  Yeah I know that this forum is not sposed to take pictures as proof, so he prob shouldn't have put them up.  But still, I thought your response went a bit over the top.  I believe the pictures are real, and I'm not a narrow minded shit and I'm not three years old.

I was saying that most FEers are narrow-minded, since they will not accept the fact that most photos from space of Earth are real. But, they would probably believe a picture of a realistic Flat Earth from space.

I'd like to know what about them you can describe as fake.  If you are simply saying that they are fake because they do not fit into your system of beliefs, I'm going to have to write you off as a fanatic and therefore not somebody that can be spoken to in a logical and reliable sense.

Now why do you guys think picture proof isn't allowed hmm? ;)

So did this thread help clear anything up or are there still people here who are undecided as to whether the Earth is spherical or flat?

As has been said more times here than I care to count, pictures are inadmissible as evidence for either side as they are too easily faked.

So every picture and video showing a round earth, EVER, is fake?

That's alot of people making fake pictures and videos. Quite ironic out of the thousands, you've not a shread of evidence of someone faking it?

You really think people are that clean in deceit? It's not possible.

You should have COUNTLESS examples of people faking pictures and videos to make the earth appear round, to just make a small FRACTION of the amount that would "get away with it."

Yet you have NOTHING. Where are your discoveries of finding photoshop history files on PC's, or put film negatives under the microscope?

With so many things you are claiming are fake, you have not a single thing to back it up, something which should be so easy to do based on the long history and great scope of your claim.
1) All galactic bodies we can see in space are spheres.
R2) We have never seen a galactic body in space that was not a sphere.
R3) The Earth is a galactic body.
C1) Therefore, from inductive logic, the Earth is a sphere.

Open the first picture in the original post of this thread with Notepad and you will find the following in the header information:

Code: [Select]
ÿØÿà JFIF H H  ÿá.Exif  MM *                  b       j(       1       r2       †‡i       œ   È   H      H   Adobe Photoshop 7.0 2004:02:25 22:36:24         ÿÿ          Ø       ×                          (             &

This means the image was created with Adobe Photoshop. A very expensive special effects image editor. Same goes for the rest of the round earth pictures.

BZZZZZT! Wrong.

That doesn't prove it was CREATED in Photoshop, douchenozzle.

That just means it was opened/saved with Photoshop. Most likely was used to either resize it or change it to a web-friendly format (i.e. JPEG instead of TIFF). As far as I know there's no way to know whether a photo was created or just opened and saved with Photoshop.

Poster "Meatballsoup" wanted proof of Photoshop tomfoolery. Well there it is, right there embedded in the image!

Oh, and an expensive image editing software package like Photoshop isn't necessary for resizing images. You could do that with any free image editor. Even MSPaint can resize images and save in JPEG format.

In fact, it looks like the pictures in the OP weren't resized at all. Did the NASA photo team run the image through Photoshop just for kicks?

Hey Tom, sorry to bust your bubble, but not everyone has to do things the same. Just because it has Photoshop in the header doesn't make it fake. I use Photoshop to manipulate the sizes of my images as well, even though MSPaint is handily available when in Windows XP. But I prefer Photoshop, so that's what I use. Does that make all of my images inherintly fake? No.

Basing a images validity based on the program used to resize an image, manipulate it in some form (that wouldn't cause it to be fake) doesn't constitute anything.

Tom, I'm on your side, but you are once again making a fool of yourself with your basic logic. Sorry.

I will forever be empirical. If you want to convince ANYONE, you're going to have to show proof.

Not proof that the earth is flat, but proof that it's a conspiracy. After all, that would be WAY harder to do. Who needs to go to an Ice Wall? If you truly belied there to be a Global (lol, global.) Conspiracy, then by golly you'd better go out there and catch someone red handed. With all the faking going on, luckily you'll have a very easy time, won't you?

If you don't, you either don't care or don't really believe it. It's obvious no one here really believes anything you claim, you're just here to play devil's advocate with everyone, get a good laugh from the people who stumble in and argue with you, and hey, in the mean time, you get a nice well-populated forum, with plenty of people who hate you for something you don't really believe anyway.
