It's not a scam. It just isn't what the flat earthers themselves think it is.
It's the zetetic viewpoint on life, literally ignoring the actual true shape of the earth and heliocentric model in general.
The way FE youtubers and the like go about it, it is a scam.
A scam that directly contradicts the zetetic viewpoint on life.
The simplest example, I watch the sun set going below me.
Yet FE says it remains above and magic makes it appear below.
Jack Black would be better off too. He could return to being what he loves most - being an elderly male pornstar
Is that your subtle way of saying you would love to see me in porn?
The flat earth society one day will become the "My flat Earth Society", to accurately reflect flat earth is subjective reality not objective reality.
Or how about the "Flat Earth Fantasy Society" to accurately reflect that it is a fantasy, not reality.
No, it's my subtle way of saying your only "stiff" competition would be 71 year old Ron Jeremy, aka the hedgehog. Also, that hiding behind your prim and proper demeanor is an over the hill pervert preying on nubile blondes and brunettes, a quarter of your age.
Scam is dependent on your viewpoint. If time is a commodity which you can lose and never get back, then yes, it is a scam. If time is money also, then yes it's a scam. If direct loss of money defines a scam, then no, it isn't. People are allowed to spend their time however way they want.
Flat earth fantasy society doesn't retain the esteem and is too obvious. How about, the "Flat Ground Society" or "The Flat Horizon Society" to reflect they are not interested in anything beyond the horizon they can see? Maybe, "The Level Earth Society". "The God's Flat Earth Society", to reflect the bible roots. "The I See flat Earth Society" could also work.
All improvements on the current abominable name.
These suggestions might unify the current flat earth into a workable model.
