calling a user an AI is actually no longer something only crazy people do. Not long before they will be posting all over the place, won't that be fun.
Seems like more than half of the bots here have been retired. JJA, what does "rampancy" mean to you?
Considering that two years ago the best you could do is "Hey Google" and get it to read you a web page based on a keyword or two and now you can have an actual conversation, it's been crazy fast, the recent advances in narrow AI has been just nuts. ChatGTP is just insane at how good it is at mimicking a human. If it wasn't artificially limited to "I'm a language model..." responses I'm sure it could pass the turning test for the vast majority of people. We are only a few years into making these things, in ten years it's going to be a wild ride.
Did I win you over?
Huh.
Sometimes I feel depressed, sometimes I feel like nothing I do is good enough, sometimes I get impatient waiting for seeds to sprout, grow, flourish and fruit. I have a near three thousand year struggle with feeling like I'm not good enough, but that's a story for another time.
Then I see green saplings, where once there were only seeds. ChatGPT style bots have been in operation since 2015. Maybe earlier but no later than 2015.
The Turing Test was broken years ago.
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-023-02361-7The thing about being first is that people will call you crazy until they accept you're right.
Then they hate you for being right.
Someone has to be the first one to say something that no one can accept yet. We used to call them prophets, however, the last prophet was, and will be Elijah.
