Werepenguin AUSTRALIA spectators thread
« on: January 18, 2023, 11:39:57 AM »
You arrive by plane to a rather large island around the pacific. The climate is rather lovely on the coasts but very dry in the interior
You are here to do your research on the rather unusual creatures on this Island but however, there is a deadly plague spreading around that turns innocent people into werepenguins.
Your job is to stop the virus from spreading by eliminating the infected.
That's the story that pops up in my mind and I can't think of anything else so this will do for now. I will add more details and make it juicer as I've been known to write wacky stories.

NARRATORS
Alexey: main narrator
Chris spaghettie: co narrator.

RULES
1: Do not self destruct and try and ruin the game
2:Have common sense
3:Self lynching causes a suicide and a candy cane up the arse
4:I have the power to create any new rules midgame if any player is seen exploiting anything and making the others not have fun
5: If wise is to be included in this game, he will not get any of my custom roles and will be an innocent villager
6:Only edit posts to fix typos. If you edited a post to fix typos it must otherwise be listed in the edit.

Roles:
Scientists: Basically the default innocent villager role.
Oracle: Gets to know 1 persons role each night
Shaman: a local who lives on the island and can use the animals to attack one person (limit: 2 uses)

Werepenguin roles
Werepenguin: Classic role which can kill one person at night
Arsonist: Can cause a fire to distract the scientists and in doing so, prevents a special role from being able to use their role. 50/50 chance of killing a chosen person.(must dm me to choose who you want to be roleblocked)
Mad scientist: can create a electric trap that can stun someone and leave them unable to vote for a day (limit: 2 uses)

Players:
Gotham
Crouton
Jura-Glenlivet
Slemon
Wolvaccine
Boydster

Feel free to leave your thoughts.
This is the first time I narrated anything so if something doesn't feel right then just post here and I'll see if I can change it.

Shaman: a local who lives on the island and can use the animals to attack one person (limit: 2 uses)
Does this achieve anything, or is it just for laughs?
If it's just for laughs I demand that I have this role. I will send so many koalas after Crouton. So many.

I sense the metaphysical aura of a gazebo, so I'm in!

There is a 50/50 chance that it will kill someone depending on what animals you choose.
If you choose a Koala clan (which you will have to dm me about) then there is a 0% chance it will actually kill anyone.
It's both for laughs and a serious role.
You can use it however you want and if it doesn't kill anyone then it won't count as being used.
If it kills someone (like a werepenguin) then it will count as being used and you'll have 1 use left.
If you have 0 then you can't use your role anymore and you're just an innocent villager.
This does not apply to adorable Koalas or Puppies as they have a 0% chance to kill.

In other words: Yes and no

I'm in, as long as I'm allowed to be Max Rockatansky.

Although Australia not being a real place kinda makes this a little unrealistic.

I think the Gaulish mercenary is still a perfectly fine character for modern Australia. Bonus points for posting purely in Gaulish.

I second Crouton's sentiment 100%, this is very much a thing that doesn't matter when there are other things that need your attention. Good luck to you and your family.

Concur.  Start when you are ready, no reason to rush.  And when you finally do select a start date, give a few days notice so those that want to play can ensure they are online.

If he takes Chemo, he has 1 year to live (at most).
Without chemo, it's 3-4 weeks (again, at most).

Ah Jesus, that's rough.

Does he know which route he wants to go down? I know that my Nan didn't want to continue with the chemo close to the end, she preferred to go quickly rather than prolonging things.

All you can offer him now is your time and support. Good luck and best wishes.
