You should be aware that chemotherapy is a very broad category of medicine. Some treatments are miserable. Others are fairly non-intrusive.

So my stepdad's father just got out of the hospital I think.
He has stage 4 small cell lung cancer or something like that.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you and your family are coping all right. Is it treatable?

If he takes Chemo, he has 1 year to live (at most).
Without chemo, it's 3-4 weeks (again, at most).

Ah Jesus, that's rough.

Does he know which route he wants to go down? I know that my Nan didn't want to continue with the chemo close to the end, she preferred to go quickly rather than prolonging things.

All you can offer him now is your time and support. Good luck and best wishes.

Chemo. He chose chemo.

I have started the game thread.

Alexei, I have assumed 2 Werepenguins to start with, is that correct?

That's annoying, supposed to be probably, but whoever thought that was a good idea just fucked up, unless they are cleverer than me, in which case, well done, however, presumably the narrators have told the few that they have powers, so you know what to do, (and that means call me okay).

I've found it's pretty hard to know what cycle we are in so far, which is a bit frustrating

Lynchings at this stage, are by necessity fraught with danger, based on flimsy, ill informed interpretation and previous grievances, so much so that they are almost invariably wrong and cast the council in a bad light, this of course has been true in the past, we have had councils infiltrated and destroyed from within and those run by megalomaniac despots.

I cannot rule out the latter but will do my utmost to prevent the former.

So utilising the “previous grievance” protocol we should lynch Junker, tears well from my eyes as I say this, but his patchy attendance in the last game gifted the penguins a game and if they are going for the more active players, (as it seems they are) hoping to sneak a win as the quieter fade away then it is a sound position, not forgetting that the penguins often hide behind inactivity, watching  as the more vigorous players consume each other in paranoid bloodletting.

When and if this decision proves to be unfounded and Junks is a good guy I will welcome him as an intelligent and trusted member of the ghost council, if a penguin we shall see his ashes scattered on the winds.

Makes sense, people that don't turn up reliably (speaking of which, someone PM me if I don't turn up reliably, my mum is visiting so I might be distracted by games of scrabble) aren't much use to the side of good so in absence of any clues about the penguins its best to go for someone like that.

Whereas the killing of Junker is liable to be a mistake, as the first to pile in was Wolvacine, and....
“The shaman appears on a rock, staring, ordering a group of vicious bears to attack Wolvaccine.
Wolvaccine was the Mad scientist.”

This proves that we are not completely at sea as the bears was a cumulative endeavour and in advance of the death of the poor scientist Junker, it is but a scintilla of warmth in this cold and forsaken island.

The Shaman specifically chose the bears to attack Wolvaccine.
I didn't, they did so I just did as they said.

I remember the games where the voting process may have had several people under the chopping block. It was always tense and full of suspence. Your name might be brought up but there was always the chance someone disagreed and put someone elses name in. Currently whatever name is first proposed, everyone just follows along

Somewhere along the line someone should write extensive WP lore.
