The article says it has no predators. I can imagine a lot of humans squishing them either for fun or because they are disgusted.

If I see a spider, I kill them. Anything with more than 4 legs I have an utter disdain for really. 8 legs is totally unacceptable

I can imagine people not used to such big spiders peeing their pants if they see one.

Golden silk orb weavers are my favorite spider, so I hope I get to see one of these new invaders someday.

We have spiders with a brown body the size of a pea and eight 1" legs, thin as a few human hairs.
They wave them as they walk.

I'm sure we'd have some shows like that on TV in between all the 'reality' show nonsense but the only thing my TV is used for is the kids watching cartoons or for us watching movies.
