Yeah I'm not sure why he used cubic metres as no one who uses it to fill up their car would even think of it for obvious reasons but I gathered he wanted to say people would see $5 at the bowser instead of the current ~$3

I’ve see varying numbers but it was a stupid idea to house soldiers next to an ammunition depot.

The amount dead will be worthless if Russia does conscript around 500,000 more.

Death toll according to the Russians is 89,  According to the Ukrainians it's 400+ 300 wounded.

Maybe, but I've seen quite a bit of scepticism -  more likely it was locals and/or Ukrainian intelligence agents.

Possibly, at the very least it's a way for them to blame the dead,  "It was their own fault, they didn't follow orders"  mantra, thus diverting blame from the military hierarchy who decided to house 700 or so troop in one concentrated place alongside an ammunition dump.

I think this is exactly right.  It was the morons in command who are at fault here, not the poor conscripted.

To be fair they've having some trouble accurately counting the dead. Apparently enough ammunition went off that it liquified the soldiers in the blast. Sort of like something at the end of Indiana Jones and the raiders of the lost ark.

Well it sort of looks like paintball gear with some creative descriptions. That's in line with Russias military at this point.

A friend who's into that stuff tells me that Mosin Nagants are a collectible rifle and easily bring over $500, even for average examples.

He also said they were an excellent rifle and accurate at long range.
