Probably, it's incredibly cold in Australia now for this time of year. Woild make sense that its hot in Europe. It would be nice if people could heat their homes in western countries in 2022.

Most likely just a late change in seasons.

15 Feb 2019:
17,000 people in the UK died last winter due to cold housing

I mean, right?

Imagine being told to just put another jumper on.

Take that, Putin.
Why would that be inciting terrorism?  Lorddave was merely describing a type of shop we have here in the US, a bomb-gun shop.  A shop that sells bomb-guns.

Again, you missed the point. There were more deaths in homes in the UK due to cold way back years ago than estimated in your post. Pre-covid, pre-war. The point you were trying to make with your Daily Mail article is a massive fail.

The point that it's too cold in Europe to tell people to put on another jumper in the face of an energy crisis?

Is there an energy crisis in the UK right now?

The end of Europe’s energy crisis is in sight
But it is important not to get too distracted by these caveats. All European gas prices have tumbled since Vladimir Putin decided to stop supplying the continent through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline at the end of August. Day-ahead prices are similar to the hourly rate of €50/MWh, month-ahead prices for November are €100/MWh, less than a third of the peak, and future prices for November 2023 are also down from almost €300/MWh to around €140.

It's weird, you almost hope that there is an energy crisis just so you can trot out in a few months and gloat, pat yourself on the back, and say, "See, I told you so...". It seems you'd rather see people suffer just so you can be right. Kinda twisted. Your intentions are malformed.

It's actually not, in the UK it is unseasonably warm, and has been for weeks, I was walking the dogs at the weekend in a T-shirt, the Ukrainians are having it rough though, I imagine.

Yeah it's unseasonably cold here on the other side of the world.

It was like 6°c the other night, at the end of October. Like I said it seems like it's a late change in seasons.

Its cold enough in Finland, I've had the heating on for several weeks now, lit three fires in the boiler today (taking a break from using the oil, so it doesn't run out in the middle of winter)

It only took one call from Turkey and Russia backs down.  The Russian telegram boys are not happy.

The Kremlin has said it will rejoin the UN-administered grain export corridor from Ukraine after pulling out over the weekend after a drone attack on Russian warships in the port of Sevastopol.

Moscow’s humiliating climbdown came two days after a large convoy of ships moved a record amount of grain in defiance of Russia’s warnings that it would be “unsafe” without its participation, and after high-level diplomatic contacts between Turkey – one of the guarantors of the scheme with the UN – and Russia.

Russia’s withdrawal had reignited fears over global hunger and food prices that had been alleviated by the inauguration of the scheme earlier this year which allowed cargo ships to move Ukrainian gain without fear of being targeted.

The war between Russia and Ukraine isn't one of good and evil.

The allies bombed supply lines in Germany during ww2 which resulted in a lot of starvation, starting with the people in the worker camps.

War is an evil thing but it is never a struggle between good and evil. In some circumstances it's necessary, you believe for example in the necessity for Ukraine to remain at war with Russia instead of not trying to cozy up with powers hostile to Russia.

I've said it before and I'm tired of saying it that if Russia or China had military bases and alliance's with Canada the US would annex Canada in a day, with overwhelming force.

Edit.

I have two or three years worth of food because I'm not an idiot.

Few wars fit into the good guys/bad guys model.  This is one of them.

I don't see what this has to do with anything.

Ukraine is determined to fight.  This decision had nothing to do with us. We're just helping out a little.

You don't think fighting Hitler was a good vs evil thing? If you're trying to make the point that wars are usually gray then why would you pick the only two wars I can think of that are morally unambiguous? Why not pick ww1 or the American Revolutionary War?

If Russia or China had military bases in Canada then I don't think we would annex them since it sounds like they've been annexed already.

How it started.

Why do we care about Ukraine so much that we would have 2 world superpowers plunged in a war for? It's madness

Ukraine doesn't need NATO military bases or backup. In fact, no European country really 'needs' it. Not when you have a President of America who could facilitate the landing of a nuke within 30 minutes anywhere on the Earth at any time.

Although I hope they dont resort to nuclear warfare over a 3rd rate and corrupt country like Ukraine. America should worry about it's own backyard before involving itself in others.

How it's going.

The US can deny it has "permanent" military bases in Ukraine all it likes but its just competing narratives.

When push comes to shove they don't even explicitly deny it.

They just say that NATO are the good guys and Ukraine can do what it wants.
