Something going on in Belarus?

Could it be the Russians trying to put down a military coup against Lukasheko?

So if the Russians fail and Lukashenko gets ousted, Russia loses a significant base from which to launch attacks on Ukraine, and thus loses the war.

So once Putin goes, how long before Chechnya and other satellite dictatorships collapse,  maybe Assad's Syria as well, especially if they over commit troops to a failed campaign in Ukraine.

Does this mean Putin is turning on the oligarchs? https://twitter.com/maxseddon/status/1504116136966828043?s=20&t=ZHF_WDfg8Pp4ByIaseCQJQ
Oh this one has the full translation https://twitter.com/just_whatever/status/1504144895501557762?s=20&t=ZHF_WDfg8Pp4ByIaseCQJQ

He sounds weird,  I hope someone hides that big red button.

As far as I know there's just a bunch of unexplained explosions in Belarus.  For all we know they accidently bombed themselves.

A lot of planes took off and Belarus is saying there are "military exercises" going on, so it could also just be sonic booms. It could be a coup, it could be Russia attacking them as a false flag to try and get them to join the fight against Ukraine by blaming the Ukrainians, or it could just be fast planes making loud booms. Time will tell.

It would be great if that were actually happening.  But this guy doesn't mention anything about any actions regarding a coup or the explosions.  He just released a statement calling Belarus's government illegitimate.

One of these days, Pootin will no longer see the distinction between NATO arming Ukraine with enough ammo to wipe out the Russian army 100x over and a NATO pilot shooting down a Russian plane instead of a plane piloted by a Ukrainian.

Anyway, hope Ukraine puts all that gear to good use. Time to fuck Russia's shit up

Russia brings in mobile cremation machines.  I didn't know that was a thing.  I don't know how accurate The Telegraph is.  Seems like they're sorting of guessing at the purpose.  But they're saying its to cremate dead Russian soldiers to conceal their losses.

What an odd site that must be for Russian soldiers.  They're marching towards a war zone with very limited information and right behind them is a machine meant to incinerate dead people.

And the knowledge knowing that if they fall in battle, they won't be honoured or buried. Just turned to ash and dumped. Charming ::)

In fairness, they don't have the fuel to ship dead bodies back to Russia for burial, nor the refrigeration to keep them from decomposing.
So cremation it is.

The House votes 424-8 to suspend normal trade relations with Russia. The eight nays:
Andy Biggs of Arizona
Dan Bishop of North Carolina
Lauren Boebert of Colorado
Matt Gaetz of Florida
Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia
Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin
Thomas Massie of Kentucky
Chip Roy of Texas

What in the world is their reasoning? I haven’t been able to find any info yet. Other than the obvious that they are all in a bag of lunacy.

Edit: here’s what Andy Biggs had to say:

"He can freeze their assets regardless of whether they have anything to do with Russia whatsoever. He gets to define what a human-rights abuse is. ... It could be used even on people who are pro-life advocates elsewhere in the world if Biden thinks that pro-abortion is a human right."

Abortion? Really?

Course she had a much better reason than "pro abortion" and "lets go brandon".

But why vote yes when proooofits are to be made?

Okay, I know this is nutty and everything, but I am really impressed that only 8 voted not to suspend trade relations. This is the most bipartisan Congress has been in a long time!

I think that was a much different scenario. In the sense that it was a vote against the US executing an unlimited invasion/war against another nation.
This is to essentially levy a “sanction” on a nation that is executing an unlimited invasion/war on another nation.

If it was a vote for the US to militarily go in and fight, now that I would expect a lot of nays.

I hear yah. The only bipartisan thing to happen in forever is in regard to an overseas conflict. Not to take away from how bad it is, but it would be awesome to see some sort unity around domestic affairs.

Lawmakers in both parties have described their shared determination to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia as the most remarkable consensus in Congress since the aftermath of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. “President Zelensky has managed not only to unite the West; to a large extent, he’s managed to unite the Congress,” Senator John Kennedy, Republican of Louisiana, said of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Russian cosmonauts arrive at ISS / sound-stage (take your pick) in Ukrainian colours, and they appear to have changed flight suits on the Soyuz (or whatever).

https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-kazakhstan-space-launches-science-business-d947eb778e5527e28cd8554eedcf3414

Quote
Video of Artemyev taken as the spacecraft prepared to dock with the space station showed him wearing a blue flight suit. It was unclear what, if any, message the yellow uniforms they changed into were intended to send.

When the cosmonauts were able to talk to family back on Earth, Artemyev was asked about the suits. He said every crew chooses their own.

“It became our turn to pick a color. But in fact, we had accumulated a lot of yellow material so we needed to use it. So that’s why we had to wear yellow,” he said.

Explanation sounds legit.   ;)
