The only reason I can come up with is because taking the people away sends the message that, if you speak out, you're fucked. And leaving the camera crew means there is someone documenting it to make abundantly clear to the next person wondering if they should speak out, so they can share that message far and wide that anyone who speaks out gets arrested immediately.

It could be that their police is operating with the same level of competency that their military is.

I'm starting to wonder if their nuclear arsenal even works at this point.

Putin apparantly signed into law that Russia can seize (steal) foreign owned planes to be repurposed as Russian domestic planes.

What's the long term goal here? All this theft of foreign owned assets will only show the world long after this invasion BS is done and Putin is bones in the ground that Russia is not a safe place to do business

The war of sanctions is really escalating quickly now. Joe Biden's father is no longer allowed entry in Russia, along with Jen Psaki and a handful of other people, and all of their Russian bank accounts are of course frozen. And they finally got Hillary. Whenever she decides to show her face in Russia, they might actually be able to lock her up, thus dealing a really authoritative blow to his greatest fan that tried this before but never really figured out how to get it done.

Joe Biden's father died some 20 years ago and none of these people seem to have Russian bank accounts (and if they do, it's not enough of an impact that they are feeling even slightly inconvenienced), but still, it's vry srs bsns and not at all another hilarious moment of incompetence.

I mean, if they have seen pictures of Joe Biden and haven't been led to believe that his family consists entirely of vampires, they'd have to at least suspect this sanction against the late Biden Sr. in particular wouldn't be super effective.
