Anybody else watch  "Don't Look Up"

Watched it last night,  and it was depressingly hilarious.

I'm in the process of watching it.

I keep having to remind myself that it's about climate change and not a comet.  I'm liking it so far.

I liked it a lot. It wasn’t fabulous, but I recommend.

Funny (depressing) story: I read that Adam McKay, the writer/director, said that they had to postpone production on the film for most of 2020 due to Covid. During that time he re-wrote a bunch of stuff in the script because it was so benign in comparison to what actually happened in the country during that time. He said the script had to be way more “bonkers” just to barely surpass 2020 reality to get into the realm of satire.

I haven't watched the entire thing yet but so far it comes off as accurate as opposed to farcical.

I know. That's the crazy (sad) part.

Just finished watching the entire thing.  I've got to say that it was quite a bit better than I thought it would be.  I thought it would be something like The Day After Tomorrow sort of boring and preachy.  But it was pretty entertaining, and also preachy.

Its truly is a great comedy. Scientists expected fake comet to come from fake space, and no one believed them cause they all knew Earth was flat and space was made up. Flawless victory for FE
