I'm not talking about your vocabulary.  I'm saying that line about "beautiful thoughts dripping from his head" or whatever the line was, was a demonstration of how much you love yourself and want us to love you.  There was nothing I couldn't understand in that sentence, or indeed in anything you've written.  People who choose to use large words when they know that the majority of people around them won't understand are obviously giving a good description of their personality.

Quote from: "SPrinkZ"
When I feel hot and cold in my forehead, and my lip gets numb from anticipation of the next word, that's how I know poetry.

Or as Emily Dickinson puts it:

"If I read a book and it makes my whole body so cold no fire can ever warm me, I know that is poetry. If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry. These are the only ways I know it. Is there any other way?"

They all make me feel ill.

Hmm, poetry sounds pretty horrible to me. I think that I shall never read poetry and thus avoid these unpleasant experiences.
A different world cannot be built by indifferent people.

Actually it was a paraphrasing from another poet. I don't see how paraphrasing another poet could provide irrefutable empirical evidence to narcissism. I guess it takes all types to think they are a psychologist, and can psychoanalyze, eh?

Also, when you want to talk about "people who use large words," here are some words you can use:

bombastic speech, grandiloquence, magniloquence, fustian, etc.

--

I'm seriously getting a good laugh out of this. So tell me why are you such a angst-ridden guy? Is there something wrong in your life?
ah.

Go for it, it's bad. It's bad for you.

In fact, all forms of art and music will cause the same pain. Just look at Mozart, he would feel ill if he couldn't write music. Avoid music man.

Music is poetic, but at least the music I like makes sense to me.

So I'll stick with the Penguin, and continue to rock out with my cock out.

I'm not a fan of idiots, especially people who won't admit they aren't familiar with esoteric stuff. It's called being a pseudo-intellectual. I'm almost positive he had no idea what a voiced bilabial plosive was until today, and I bet he's unfamiliar with things such as brevis in longo, anceps, and maybe metonymy. If he is, he must be doing a shit load more reading than I am; but he seems more concerned with concrete matters, rather than abstract.

You sure about that? I think that anything can be poetic if it speaks a message to someone.

No SPrinkZ, what you're doing is called being a pseudo-intellectual.

Pedantic might be another term used to describe you.

I mean, I've written poems about certain pieces, like Chopin's Piano Sonata No.2 in Bb-minor Op.25.

I found the back-story to the piece was almost as exciting as the piece itself.

So what was your purpose in starting this topic?  Looking for an opportunity of showing us how great you are?  I think that kind of backfired on you, because now everybody just thinks you love yourself.  There are some pretty arrogant people on this forum, I'm probably one of them; we are all Taoists compared with you.

What kind of person starts a topic with the purpose of making themselves look great, and everybody else look stupid?  Do you need to know any big words to judge that person?

No, I am not claiming to know anything more than I know. I'm not thumbing a thesaurus. This is all from my head, and I am fully aware of what I say, and I choose what words I use relatively carefully for fora.

Pedantic is a better word to use, but I haven't really shown very much yet. In fact, I've shown relatively nothing in terms of what I know, I just showed some jargon. I didn't demonstrate how I use it.

So, even that fails. You fail, give up.

I hate when you keep saying big words, you sound like a damn five year old. I wanted to see who here knew poetry. I said I liked the poem you posted (the latter one). You began to tear into me and treat me like I'm an idiot; you started this shit. Why are you complaining? I am merely defending myself, I said I wanted to give it a few more perusals to see if there was anything else I was missing besides the main message. Since I had never heard of this poet before, I had questioned if he was just some run-of-the-mill type (like just a personal favorite, a local writer). You could have corrected me without jumping down my throat like he's your lover.

Yes yes, it must be so hard for you.  You're clearly the victim here, and we're all meanies.

I am happy to talk poetry, and indeed you'll see that I am the only person in this topic to post any poems, and I've continually tried to bring things back on topic.  You choose how you respond: we don't force you into responding the way that you do.

Hahaha...very cute. Why don't we play a game? Let's only type in anapestic tetrameter, like Dr.Seuss, I'll begin...of course Dr.Seuss used an iamb at the start, so we'll do it like that. You can also use feminine endings, as I will.

I think and I've thought I have found resolution,
I'll beat you about and then start execution.

I dropped My Goo
And dumped your mom off at the next Block!

That's the world's worst Limerick ever. It doesn't follow the meter at all, but it's still pretty funny. :P

My favorite limerick:

There once was a man named Dave.
Who kept a dead whore in a cave.
He said, "I admit,
I'm a bit of a shit,
but think of the money I'll save!"

The meter is off very slightly, but it's still funny.
