Human resource peeps

Do these people have any social utility? Has anyone here had the misfortune to having been interviewed by one of them?

Being facetious huh.

I've had just such a misfortune of talking to a HR person. 

years ago I read a Dilbert cartoon that said "Nobody in HR cares whether you live or die."  I never really understood it until I worked in a large company with a human resources department. 

So you're feeling the pain huh? I recall an interview with one two years ago. Basically, chick thought it was cool that I could speak Dutch and German, until she disclosed that she was a descendent of orangemen from Ulster. To reciprocate her condescending tone, I said the following: " Verstehen Sie was dieses zu Ihnen bedeuten? " Bitch was clueless as to the historical contxt of what I said, but it didn't matter.

Now had I followed this scenario, we would have had a happy ending:

Chick: I see that you're not greatly qualified for this position.
Me: Yeah, but my father belongs to the same country club as your uncle.
Chick: Well gosh golly goddamnit, we're seeking someone who can fit in,
Me: Wanna listen to STP's " Sex Type thing." ?
