Salt flat laser experement

Bonneville salt flats 12 miles = 8' earth curve.
Level laser for 1 mile. the end of the flats the beam should be 8' above the starting point.

For though the. refraction may at a mean compensate for about a seventh of the curvature of the earth, it sometimes exceeds a fifth, and at other times does not amount to a fifteenth.
