Recognizing the History of the Holiday

Thanksgiving is a day that can be difficult for many to celebrate as we reflect on the history of the holiday and the horrors inflicted on our indigenous populations. If you celebrate, our Equity team has shared resources for how you can consider decolonizing your Thanksgiving.

I am happy in Florida. I don't care for Disney (or any of the tourist traps, tbh). I don't hate DeSantis, but sometimes he annoys me, because he had a great start but got sucked into Trumpism.

The ill-fated evening started out with the sisters, who were tourists from New Jersey, grabbing dinner at Disney Springs at a steakhouse and then hitting an Irish pub for drinks, according to details recently revealed in Florida circuit court papers.

When the sisters, ages 29 and 31, were ready to go back to their hotel off the resort property, their phone died and a Disney security guard helped them call an Uber.

The Uber driver refused to take them, saying they were too drunk, so the security guard called a taxi.

While they were waiting, the pair began arguing. The older sister called the younger sister a “bad mum” and slapped her, according to court papers.

In return, the younger sister allegedly threatened to punch her.

Police from the Orlando County Sheriff’s Office arrived around 12:40am to find the younger sister screaming and crying near Cirque du Soleil, steps from the Watermelon and Mango parking lots.

She was stripped down to only her underwear and sandals, court papers said.

“After attempting to calm the situation, [the security manager] said one female slapped the other in the face,” the sheriff’s report said.

“At that point, both females began punching, slapping, and pulling each other’s hair.”

The security manager pulled the two drunk women apart. But in true, trashy, reality-show fashion, they rushed at each other.

“Once separated, both sisters ran at each other, slipped in [the younger sister’s] vomit, then fell into the bushes while still fighting,” the report said.

According to the security guard, the younger sister “ran a few feet away and took off her dress, exposing her breasts. Shortly after, they began to punch each other again.”

Eventually, the pair were separated and arrested.

Disney didn’t have video of the brawl, the report said, adding that when police questioned the younger sister, all she wanted to talk about was how she “didn’t like her sister’s boyfriend.”

Both women were arrested for misdemeanour domestic violence, battery, and disorderly intoxication.

There is a hole in that story.  It says the officer arrived to find the younger sister stripped to her underwear and sandals.  The sisters began to fight.  It then says the younger sister took off her dress.  This sounds too much like a conspiracy by Big Clothing.

Multiple people are reportedly dead after a mass car crash in Missouri, US.

Multiple people are dead after a car crash involving about 50 vehicles in Missouri, United States.

It’s believed the mass car smash was caused by a driver who suddenly hit the brakes, leading to a chain reaction of crashes.

A drone photo captured by news channel KAIT showed the extent of the carnage, with trucks jackknifed and a line of traffic stretched back along the highway.

The crash took place on the I-57, an interstate highway that runs between Missouri and Illinois.

The smash-up was reported near Charleston, Missouri, on Thursday (US time).

The horror crash led to the entire highway being closed.

When I was a kid I drove a laundry truck for my uncle's company one summer in, around, and out of Boston twice a day, doing drop-offs and pick-ups. My takeaway: Driving was a combat sport, Mad Max style. I was one of the good guys; used my turn signal, obeyed stop signs and red lights, etc. I was in the extreme minority.

My experience is that it varies greatly from state to state.

Utah drivers are usually polite.  California drivers are very aggressive.  Nevada drivers are aggressive and dumb.  Then there's all the places on the East coast which weren't even built for cars.

Florida is filled with elderly retirees who drive 5 mph below the speed limit, and maniacs speeding everywhere. IT'S A DEATH TRAP.

There were PSA's on TV begging drivers to stop at red lights.

And its not like she suffered behind me for very long.
She came out from one street and zig-zagged to another - where i and my trailered child were in the "-" inbetween.
