Space Storms
« on: July 12, 2021, 11:18:15 AM »

A solar storm detected yesterday is due to hit the Earth today.  Communications and GPS interference is to be expected.

Lucky people in the northern hemisphere might get a nice light show tonight.

How does Flat Earth Theory explain solar storms, and that can be spotted a day in advance? It's not epicycles since we have only been able to predict them for a few years and are still improving our detection systems.

If the Sun is only 3000 or 25 miles away (distance varies based on which theory one uses), why does it take so long for the storm to get here?

Space storm in a vacuum. Hmmmmm.
Sometimes the storytellers need to understand the story they're giving out.
If they give it out as fantasy then you can have space storms in a vacuum.
If they intend to give it out as factual they need to explain the vacuum and how the space storm works.

So what are we talking about here, space electrons?

theoretical formula for Earths curvature = 8 inches multiplied by (miles squared) = inches drop from straight forward

Choose the frame work and fill in the blanks! You know what i mean? Just kdding. but seriously, would that work?

In this case it is electromagnetic radiation.

If they intend to give it out as factual they need to explain the vacuum and how the space storm works.

Explaining the "vacuum" is really simple.  The number of gas molecules surrounding the earth becomes smaller and smaller with increasing distance from the earth; consequently the gas pressure becomes smaller and smaller.  When you get far enough from the earth that the gas pressure is essentially zero, you have reached essentially empty space. Some people like to think of it as a "vacuum", but it's really just  the nearly total absence of gases. Empty space. It's not hard to understand empty space.

Impossible.
And don't pretend you understand empty space when it cannot ever be a thing.

Sounded pretty close to me, why is it impossible?
Just because you don't want it to be possible  doesn't magically make it so.
Please give reasoning for your claim that near empty space can't be a thing?  Remember he never claimed it was completely devoid of matter too, he said nearly total absence, so your normal little game, let's just not do that k.

Can you explain just why you think it is impossible?
Is this just a repetition of your claim that you hate how gasses work and space and want to pretend all the molecules are stuck together?

Oh don't worry -- I'm not pretending. There seems to be only one person pretending stuff is true that isn't. I won't name names, but if the shoe fits, put it on.

I remember questioning that in 5th grade.Define 'vacuum'.
There is only pressure until there is no more pressure.
Vacuum is just a comparison. Like "Cold". There is no cold.

Thanks for the laugh.   8)

Denying knowledge is just a sign of ignorance. Go north, watch the northern lights.

Ask yourself whats produced the lights, why are they moving and why are they predominantly green ?

Also ask yourself the question why can they be predicted with a great degree of accuracy?
