I just wondered why magma/lava is so hot when it today flows up in the garden of an Iceland friend of mine! But is it really radioactive decay? There is no radiation from the lava except heat. In Japan there are several types of radioactive decay, e.g. explosive fission vaporizing Hiroshima and Nagasaki 1945 except plenty survivors witnessing it. Then there is the Fukushima nuclear plant with controlled fission that 2011 overheated due to a tsunami so plenty people had to evacuate  or die. Those that didn't evacuate didn't die. Since then I have doubts about nuclear physics and radiation.

Our human experience and our place in reality, the sphere model works. I'm not about to say what we see and experience is the be all and end all. The nature of the universe and its entirety is not fully understood.

How is the heat of the Earth produced?
