Probably the same way that I and millions of others found it and knew what it was... it was in exactly the location that Comet Neowise was predicted to be, moved in the same direction and rate as Neowise was predicted to move if you looked at it long enough, was bright enough to see without optical aid from a reasonably dark location (and easy to see in binoculars once you found it) like Neowise was, and had the same appearance as Neowise.
