I'm all for new Trek but wish they had a decent one that's set after the events of Voyager

Of course he is.  It was ideal back then.  But the modern Pike seems to be decent so I'm all for this pre-TOS reboot.

I see them in Discovery.  I'm a little optimistic.  I also think there's hope for a kind of old school format similar to TOS that doesn't involve a season long arc.
