One of the scariest things about all of this has been the censorship and authoritarianism. If they keep doubling down as more data and whistleblowers come out were going to end up in a very bad place.

 Usually big lies are backed by only a few people, trying to spread them for personal reasons (typically greed or lust for control). The truth acts as a massive flashlight, pushing back darkness and exposing it.

There is a struggle to any of this, and those in power like to push compliance. But it's like what happened in my state. I was the only one wearing masks. Then when I refused to play along for uphill of a year or so, eventually mask laws loosened (or rather caved in, as Fauci's ideas were exposed as contradictory). Then at farmer's markets, while before I was among only a handful of people not wearing masks, suddenly I found out that the vast majority didn't want to wear them, and the actual holdouts were a few woke, a few that were afraid of sickness, and a few embarrassed that they  might have COVID.

So actually, this was alot of people wearing because they thought they had to. My sister is liberal but very tiger mom, so despite the fact that they don't mask up at home, the kids have the idea that at school they have to mask. Actually, that's currently not legal. Once people understand that not only are they free not to, but that doing this actually harms their body, this shadow creeps back just a bit more. One day, we will be able to see past the fear into reality.

Vaccines are like a loaded gun in your nightstand.  When someone breaks in, you're ready to deal with them.

Unvaccinated is like having a disassembled gun in a safe with ammo in another safe on the other side of the house.

The way it slows transmission is by having your body ready to attack it.  It may not get it before the virus starts spreading, but it'll be the fastest reaction it can be.

So it lowers how long you're infectious.

Polio and Smallpox was the same way, except incubation time is much longer. Polio takes years before symptoms set in.  Smallpox can take 2 weeks.  The smallpox vaccine is 95% effective and it was erradicated by making the people who could transmit it smaller and smaller.  If every host is hostile to a virus, the virus will not survive long enough to infect many others, if anyone.

Its almost as if misinformation was spreading like.

And people educated themselves and others and the misinformation would sprwad less ans less.

But if people remain ignorant and continue sorwading misinformation, and adding their own lies and changing the story, it perpetuates the misinformation.

Yeah the covid vaccines are nowhere near as effective as the Polio and Smallpox vaccines, you're right.

The covid vaccines aren't nearly as effective as the flu vaccines, which have never been mandated because it's acknowledged that flu shots don't prevent transmission nearly as well as the smallpox, polio, measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines. Plus a lot more vaccines that work.

The covid vaccine is also unsafe compared to any other vaccine. Lots of people were mandated to take it that got very little benefit from it and a lot of relative risk.

The issue is that this vaccine was mandated with the promise of it being safe and effective and that it would stop the spread. That turned out not only to be incorrect but a lie.

That is the problem.

I can't speak for America on this but here it did.  Masks, social distancing, and vaccines basically halted the spread here in Norway.  Maybe the problem isn't the vaccine, its the people.

The variant, a combination of Omicron and the original virus in Wuhan, killed 80% of the mice infected with it, the university said. When mice were only exposed to Omicron, they experienced mild symptoms.

The research was conducted by a team of scientists from Florida and Boston at the school’s National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories.

“Determination of those proteins will lead to better diagnostics and disease management strategies,” Saeed said.

The research was reviewed and approved by the Institutional Biosafety Committee, which consists of scientists as well as local community members. The Boston Public Health Commission also approved the research.

“Furthermore, this research mirrors and reinforces the findings of other, similar research performed by other organizations, including the FDA,” BU said. “Ultimately, this research will provide a public benefit by leading to better, targeted therapeutic interventions to help fight against future pandemics.”

I'm not an expert in virology. Neither are you. The researchers said it wasn't as they know how it's defined. It was approved by governing bodies. It's similar to other ongoing research of the same kind.

If you think you know better than all of those folks, well then, good for you.

I think it's best to formally change the definition of a word before you claim its definition no longer applies.

I didn't change any definitions. Just simply citing what the researchers said and the governing bodies approved.

That's the covid at work. What the GoF research was for. Other illnesses.... You recover pretty much as good as new. This one.... Quietly attacks your critical organs - just enough that you die later and there is no link to the source.

New Zealand is a shit place to bunker down in an end of world scenario. Located in the 'ring of fire' it has many earth quakes and active volcanoes. Dumb
