I seriously can't understand the logic of an antivaxxer. Or even those who weasel word 'hesitancy'

Junk food, artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners, preservatives, high fructose corn syrup the Americans seem to love, soda, smoking, beer/alcohol, micro plastics, seafood contaminated with mercury/dioxins, industrial pollution, coal fired power stations etc..... All worse for your health than a vaccine shot. And what's the pay-off? At least the vaccine has the pay off that could very well save your life, others life or just your quality of life.

No one gets so enraged about the sugar they dump into everything. Or the toxic waste run off that contaminates the food chain and thus, us. But a vaccine shot? Look at the outrage. FFS people are dumb fucks

So what? We all get vaccinated and we can all remain in good health. Vaccinated people also won't be spreading the virus to as many people as they cough/sneeze less. Less runny nose and not sick for as long.

What's the alternative? Do nothing? Great plan. Throw away the experience of the suffering and death of millions of people just so you don't have to have a jab in the arm

Never mind the economic damage covid unchecked would do to the economy. Even years after the pandemic ends with millions afflicted with permanent damage to their quality of life, time off work, ongoing medical care and maybe die earlier from cancer, heart attacks etc from internal scarring

Thank God Australia got itself vaccinated before covid rampaged here. The differences between our 2 countries would make an interesting case study in future years I'd say

I don't know where you get the idea that people will cough and sneeze less when they're vaccinated. Omicron is more contagious because it stays in the upper respiratory system and is easier to cough and sneeze the virus out. I just got over Omicron, I don't plan to get an Omicron vaccine. We could be on the next variant by March.

I should elaborate, the viral loads are similar between vaxxed and unvaxxed, but decrease faster if you are vaxxed.  So the overall viral load is significantly less.  However if you are in the same household it probably doesn't change the odds of passing it on as much as casual contact would.  The difference is time of exposure, how effective masking is and social distancing.

In principle I sort of agree with them.  Mandates shouldn't be broader than necessary and I don't see how a trucker is one of those jobs that's at a high risk of spreading covid.

There's an alternate reality somewhere where the science behind the vaccine is a separate discussion from what sort of mandates are reasonable.

In this reality though there's no way any of those truckers are vaccinated but protesting it out of principle.  There's no way they're not chanting "let's go Brandon" in unison while they clog up this freeway. 

The videos of the people walking around with Confederate flags seem really suspicious. Like there will be a  bunch of Canadians standing around politely, and then someone in a full face mask and sunglasses will walk by with Confederate flag.  The media zoom in on the flag people. And why tf are they waving Confederate battle flags in Canada?

Yeah they travel long distances but they're mostly doing it alone.  I can imagine a workflow where they barely need to interact with people when they're picking up and dropping off their cargo.  It's not like a workplace that's asses to elbows like in a meat processing facility.

Ah but truckers travel great distances, stop for food and bathroom breaks in places they usually aren't (or aren't for long) and can visit large populations as well as small, sleepy factory/warehouse towns that hasn't seen much if any covid.

Also, they do need to unload their truck, sign documents, etc... So there is interaction.  And changing the workflow system to accomodate limited contact, while doable (and maybe done in some places) is not something you can do in a week.
