Additionally, I'll be wearing an ffp2 (n95) mask which pretty much stops the spread of the corone.

That depends on whether you bought real certified ones or cheap counterfeit ones. Just because it looks like a mask, doesn't mean it acts like one

There's soooooo much trash ones online it's not funny. Fuck ebay and Amazon for facilitating the sale of dodgy and fake masks in a middle of a pandemic

The real deal costs the money. You get what you pay for.

https://www.news.com.au/sport/tennis/novak-djokovic-court-documents-confirmed-he-tested-positive-for-covid-in-december/news-story/8bf69b691cc5734c6c08a2d6e4120351
Quote
Novak Djokovic was granted a Covid-19 vaccine exemption to enter Australia because he had tested positive to the virus on December, his lawyers revealed in a court application on Saturday.

“The date of the first positive Covid PCR test was recorded on 16 December 2021,” Djokovic’s lawyers said in a filing to the federal court seeking to overturn the cancellation of his Australian entry visa.

The court documents state the world No. 1 had been provided with a “medical exemption from Covid vaccination” on the grounds he had recently recovered from Covid.

The development confirms the reason many had suspected Djokovic had used to gain a vaccine exemption to enter Australia.

Djokovic’s fate now lies in the courts, where his legal team will argue his case on Monday.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison and the Australian Border Force said Djokovic did not provide sufficient evidence to justify his vaccination exemption and he is now stuck in a Melbourne hotel awaiting an outcome.

TA is under scrutiny after The Herald Sun revealed the governing body told unvaccinated players they were eligible to enter the country for the Australian Open with an exemption if they had caught Covid within the last six months.

That is despite the Federal Government informing Tennis Australia prior infections were not covered in its guidelines for medical exemptions. Letters from Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt sent to TA in November allegedly show the governing body was aware of this caveat before giving players advice.

So that entitled fuckhead Novak tested positive for covid in mid December and arrives here not even 3 weeks later and demands full freedom everywhere. Holy shit this guys a dick

Some advice for the future.... If you're looking to enter a foreign country - check your eligibility requirements through the government of where you are going. Not some stupid 'Tennis' organisation. They knew his reasons wouldn't fly with the government to allow him entry but told him he was OK anyway. His beef should be with Tennis Australia even though he's a dickhead for not doing his diligence in checking with our government as should be his responsibility

Get that entitled spoiled brat and diseased covid spreader the fuck out of here already

How many of you would like to mingle with someone who tested positive to covid 3 weeks ago but they 'feel fine' now? Fuck that.

At this point anyone who moves about is basically going to catch the omicran (ERMAHCRAAWN meme girl)

 - Vax or unvaxed.

So now the question is - who s the liability on? and - who has to take care of you if you need to take up precious hospital space?

Every country has backed up cancer or "elective" surgeries.
Treatable shit.

I would say if you refuse vax then youre house bound and the govt run hospitals have no obligation to take care of you.

This is become a waste of time all for the sake of the last 10-20% of the population who alrsady dont care.

"Get back to normal" and open up the hospitals already!!!!

So novak being unvaxed is not a big deal unless the austealian govt has to take care of him if his lungs cease to work.

But
Is 3wks ago long enough?
Ya probably not.
Keep that stuck up fkrr out for 6months.
Missing 1 tourny not going to dent his millions and wont affect anyone elses life.

Well  maybe the other lower seats will be happy to get a bump in stats.

I fully support hospitals sending antivaxxers home. The vaccine costs the government a few dollars. Imagine how much money and resources they wasted treating that fat POS Doug Kuzma? Would have run into the tens of thousands of dollars at a minimum as well as taking up a bed for someone who may have needed it for reasons outside of their control. But they had Doug... For what? Just to have him linger on for a few weeks before his obvious eventual death? What a waste of money. The only sad part about his death is he never got to see his Facebook page trolled by thousands of people laughing at his stupidity lol

Hospitals should not be used as some stop gap measure for antivaxxers to rely on when they want to take a stupid gamble that has absolutely no pay off.

What about people who go skiing or mountain biking and break a leg?  Or someone with concussion after their MMA session?  Or someone in a car accident who was speeding?  Or the guy who smokes and eats fatty food who has heart pains?

If you are going to say unvaccinated are not deserving of healthcare, then you will have to have someone stood on the hospital door checking everyone who arrives has met your criteria for worthiness.    You all also going to end up with a pretty complicated rule book.  You will probably need some kind of panel of moral philosophers to convene on every case and make a judgement.

Sounds like a fucking awful way to run a healthcare system to me, so good luck with that.

Sport injuries are neither contgagious nor overloading hospitals, so not comoarable.

I think unvacced covid patients should get treatment if possible, but in a triage situation I am for including the vaccination status as a big influece factor in regard to who gets an icu bed.

Yeah there's been some betrayal of ideals in strange places.

Many antivaxxers protesting with signs that say "my body my choice" yet at the same time cheering on the overturning of Roe vs. Wade.  And for some reason drug testing for employment is still fine.

Several red states extended unemployment benefits for people who get fired for refusing to vaccinate.

Something about refusing medical treatment for antivaxxers rubs me the wrong way.  But there's also the concept of triage which is often misunderstood.

Make them pay out their own pocket. It would not be 'denying' them healthcare anymore than you already deny people healthcare who dont have private insurance.

The vaccine costs the state a few dollars but treatment can cost hundreds of thousands if the dumb bastards linger on for months. Then there is the calamity that you have people with non covid problems unable to get the care they need because the hospitals are packed full of dumb bastards who made stupid choices

It's of course their choice to not get vaccinated but they should understand that certain choices comes with consequences. One of them being that they have to pay out of their own pocket if shit hits the fan. Obviously not all of them could and some of them might think their chances are better off at home with their z pack and horse paste

That's certainly better than having hospitals at breaking point and unable to function properly.

Some stupid fuckwits actually believe that the recovery rate without the vaccine is 99% or some bullshit.

Guess what? They all died, the vaccine will boost that recovery rate as most people who have the vaccine get mild covid and survive.

Fat smokers are the worst as they are probably from the lower classes and not economically or culturally important.   They probably don't even know what intersectionality is. They made their choice to stick that pork pie in their disgusting mouth, so they can die by that decision.

Don't even get me started on sexually transmitted infections - those people want to fuck like rabbits, we should just let their dicks rot off to teach them some morality.   How will they learn otherwise? I don't to pay for their bacchanalian pleasures and why should I?

People living their lives but having accidents is exactly why we have health care

So if you go skiing and have an accident, as a tax payer I have no issue with helping to pay you to get back on your feet

People who smoke pay a fortune in tax (at least here in Oz). They essentially fund their own eventual hospital stay....

In the midst of a world wide pandemic which has caused serious harm and death to millions of people and now we have a vaccine which can sharply reduce that -  to have a cohort that wants to pretend there is a conspiracy, it's fake and actively try and sway people against life saving vaccines well, they dont get sympathy from me when the utterly predictable happens and they get sick and need treatment. People like Doug Kuzma who used his platform to spread disinformation and bullshit indirectly could have killed many people. The guy is a pox on society and a garbage human.

If his choice to not vaccinate when he had ample opportunity to do so rendered him unable to get covid related treatment lest he pay out of his own pocket then what's the problem? Hospitals cant cope with an omicron wave hitting every single fuckhead like Doug all at once.

Australia was not hit hard by the pandemic but even cancer related services has had a measurable drop
https://www.canceraustralia.gov.au/covid-19/impact-covid-19-cancer-services

So people like Doug Kuzma and all his QAnon and his anti vaxxer like minded dickheads can go treat themselves at home. Judging by their rhetoric many would seem to prefer it. Almost all of them do not credit the doctors with saving their lives but credit 'God' instead.

One of Dougs last posts on Facebook was that it was 'time for a z pack'. The hospital should just humour the bastard with one of those and send him on his way.

The bloodthirstiness for the unvaccinated isn't contained in the US, unfortunately. I don't know if it started here, but I see people from all over (who identify as on the left) talking about letting them die. Or celebrating when they die. Or floating the idea of bankrupting them with medical costs.

On a srsly lefty feminist fediverse instance I complained about a politician wanting to deny coverage to the unvaccinated, and someone replied "So, you are against encouraging people to be vaccinated"?  This new way they argue, where they just embrace the strawman... I don't even know what to say about it.  I don't even know if it's new, but it seems like it is. The left used to be the rational ones, or they pretended to be.

I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

America already bankrupts people or leave them to die who dont have health insurance. Telling people who refuse to have a vaccine despite all the data slam dunking its safety and effectiveness in preventing serious illness and death that they are on their own if they get in trouble due to the very thing the vaccine could have prevented is hardly a step up from what you already consider normal

It seems there's already a movement among the US health insurance industry to continue their bankrupting in a round about way - Up premiums through employers, employers pass off the costs to the employees, perhaps vaxed/unvaxed employees:

3:42 - "...premiums are starting to go up so it will cost more for employers and most of us in the industry are starting to target and to add premium loads onto employers that are based in counties that have low vaccination rates."

Sport injuries are neither contgagious nor overloading hospitals, so not comoarable.
Those people brought their injuries on themselves and I don't want my taxpayer money spent funding their pointless hobbies.

Ah yes I remember, it was just two weeks ago when the cancer patients and the grandma with arthritis pain couldnt get their surgeries because of all the people with the STDs overloading the icu...  ::)
He says, completely missing the fucking point.  Again.

People with diabetes have in fact being overloading our health system.  Many of these are fatties and even worse, poor.  They chose their lifestyles, so fuck em.  Lets get more worthy people into beds.  People should be treated on the basis of their virtuousness, not their needs.

Strangely enough, this hasn't been done.  It's been treated as a public health issue...

The problem with this is that when anti-vaxxers die, it won't be due to covid but "Because liberal hospitals are turning them away."
So the impact of 'oh shit, he died even with care' will cease.

It's really weird to me that wanting people to be denied healthcare is now a "liberal" idea.

Because its never about the broad picture, but the personal views of the people saying it.
"My body my choice" only applies to vaccines.  Because they don't want abortions but also don't want the vaccine.
You have been ignored for common interest of mankind.

I am a terrible person and I am a typical Blowhard Liberal for being wrong about Bom.

Who becomes the arbiter of virtue?

Exactly.

People on Twitter, presumably.

Or floating the idea of bankrupting them with medical costs.

Are you advocating for your country to adopt America's healthcare system?

I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

It's really weird to me that wanting people to be denied healthcare is now a "liberal" idea.
The American "left" politics seems to have increasingly little overlap with the left politics I was brought up into.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"

Would probably get a confused response.  Maybe "Well unless they are unvaccinated or opposed to transgender access to bathrooms via self id.  Or once voted Republican.  Or made a slightly sexist tweet in 2014.  Go Pfizer!"

Once again out of context.

The icu are overrun with covid patients occupying beds and pushing out "electivce" cancer parients.

There is no dtetachment from free healthcare to kicking willingly unvax out of icu to make roon for treatbale patients who need health care.

1st come 1st serve.
There is a 400,000 backlog in canada.
There will be no shortage of coming.

The healthcare system is sized to treat  xyz patients for car crashes skiing std and whatevre other strawshit jimmys on.
Its not sized to treat extended pandemic AND regular life issues.

The American health care system is not only disgusting, but totally broken

For Australias case I'd still support people who refuse a vaccine and then get afflicted with the disease and need treatment to pay out their own pocket. Why the fuck should my taxes pay for that? This isn't a matter of an accident, misfortune or bad genes....

Refusing a vaccine is a calculated, deliberate choice where the consequences are well known and established. It's like driving your car uninsured and after crashing it decide you want to make a claim. The health care system should not be used this way or as a crutch in a pandemic that can infect tens of thousands of people a day with a serious disease when there is a vaccine that can prevent the vast bulk of cases becoming serious or ending in death.

I'm just glad Australia isn't filled with so many retarded dimwits that it's not much of an issue.
