Because I don't know what that's going to do to the elastic.

Also black lights are cool.
Why are you so worried about the elastic?
As if that really matters. If it's getting a bit less elastic then who cares.
A proper fit is critical for a good seal and overall effectiveness.  That's why men with beards are screwed.

It's not like a bit less elastic is gonna mean it doesn't fit anymore.

Also the beard thing depends a lot on the mask and the beard. But yeah, no beard definitely is better.

The elastics are actually pretty important.  Without it you don't have a good seal.  I have two masks and they're about 7 years old.  The brittleness of the elastics have me a little concerned when I use them.

Then just put on a new elastic, rubber band or whatever.
As long as it's a little bit elastic it's fine.
If it's not tight enough just make a knot so the band is a bit shorter.

Yes.
Just use a stapler.
Or, honestly, if your elastic fails it's very likely that the metal piece for the nose has already been bent so often that it's not gonna be tight anymore. So better use a new mask after you have worn the same mask so many times that the elastics is broken.

Well the us is very soon going to surpass every other country in terms of deaths. Your deaths/day will likely be over 2000/day in a week and a half or so.

Maybe.  But at the moment France has a fatality rate of 6.49% and the US has a fatality rate of 1.8%.  6.49% is Iran bad.  The disparity is odd to me.

You guys could also use an ozone generator to kill virus, bacteria and smells.

https://crystalquest.com/pages/ozone-generator-for-covid-19-coronavirus-disinfectant

I use a different more powerful one. Why doesn't the government send these around to people.

Mold remediation companies use these generators, also hotels.

Probably because ozone isn't particularly healthy to breathe.
What are some of the health effects from exposure to ozone?

Adults and children who breathe high levels of ozone for a short period of time (minutes or hours) can experience eye, nose and throat irritation, shortness of breath, chest pain and coughing. Breathing high levels of ozone can worsen asthma symptoms. Breathing ozone for a short period of time may worsen symptoms in people with heart disease. Ozone can react with other chemicals in the air to produce additional chemicals and fine particles that can also be irritating to the eyes, nose, throat and lungs.

Of course you use personal hygiene. Ozone cleans all of the environment    around you inside. Ozone in the atmosphere is the natural cleaner for outside. Ozone is used by cleaning companies, mould cleanup, fire restoration.

It should be noted this was patented in the US in 2006.

Here is the patent number - US2006257852
Anti-gravity was patented too.  What's your point?

Idiot.   Ozone is not patented.

Ozone is a well accepted and safe method of room disinfection.   Just don't breathe it directly,  let the room clear after treatment.

Also,  don't drink bleach or isopropanol,  unless you are a swedish lab rat.

4 Patent Abstract

An outbreak of a virulent respiratory virus, now known as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), was identified in Hong Kong, China and a growing number of countries around the world in 2003. The invention relates to nucleic acids and proteins from the SARS coronavirus. These nucleic acids and proteins can be used in the preparation and manufacture of vaccine formulations, diagnostic reagents, kits, etc. The invention also provides methods for treating SARS by administering small molecule antiviral compounds, as well as methods of identifying potent small molecules for the treatment of SARS.
