Fucking hell, can America get more insane?

Wonder when they will approve covid jabs for 12-15 year olds here, hopefully soon.

Done and dusted here in my city. Already more than 95% of the population 12+ have had 2 doses. By the end of the month it should hit 99%ish.

There is also talk about getting 5-11 year olds approved at some stage

We also have a booster program to get a 3rd jab 6 months from the last one.

I realised they already approved it for 12+ here, its the 5-11 year olds we're waiting for now. And for the 12-15 year olds to actually get their jabs, not many have got them because its their choice instead of parents choice and what 12 year old is going to choose to get jabbed if they don't have to?

They should have transition to the delta strain akready

That's because they keep attributing a positive test from a nose swab as 'covid'. It's bullshit. Covid is the disease the virus gives you. Those tests test the presence of the virus which of course you will find in people's noses if they have come into contact. Even vaccinated people.

It's like taking a swab of a door handle a person with covid sneezed on and saying 'that door handle has covid!'

It's like they think the vaccine puts up a force field around your body to prevent specifically Sars Cov-2 from getting in. It's not and never has been how vaccines work

Stupid to test body surfaces for a virus and immediately draw the conclusion you have the disease.

We should be using the metric of ICU admissions and death as our metric to gauge success. Testing is good and all but to gauge vaccine performance on a nose swab is just stupid

I agree that 10k/day now isn't the same as 10k/day during the first or second wave, when we didn't have a vaccine. But still, that vaccine isn't 100% effective and the vaccination rate is far from 100%, too. So the number of cases per day still correlates very well with the number of hospitalizations or deaths/day - just at a lower rate.
And it appears that in austria some of the icus are already at their limit and they start getting into real problems - and the numbers just keep going up!

I have two shots of Moderna and I've been taking medicinal horse cocaine.

While I haven't gotten Covid I do know a lot of people that have and we like a lot of the same movies. So I feel that emotionally I've had Covid and therefore have the strength of the natural antibodies in addition to vaccinated antibodies and horse cocaine antibodies.

Ebay used to be the place to buy vintage horse medications but the whole Ivermectin thing ruined that.

Side note:  90% of the google search results for horse medication includes Joe Rogan and Ivermectin.  If some kid were trying to be a horse veterinarian he would probably assume that Joe Rogan is some miracle horse doctor that created a miracle horse medicine called Ivermectin.

I would imagine that would be the case.  A kind of reverse placebo. You think of side effects and so experience side effects. Not sure if there is a word for that. Displicebo?

I got sick badly after the second covid shot. But after the flue shot about two weeks ago, I had zero side effects fortunately.

Also I talked to an ICU chef doctor today - and holy shit, she was fucking pissed about unvaccinated people. Very understandable tho, many suffer a terrible fate of suffocation and watching this must be horrible, too. And if they decide to put them on ecmo (outside the body mechanical lungs) its fucking expensive - which also sucks since it means ignorance of a few is costing the community a lot.

Whenever I talk to health care professionals and the topic of vaccines come up you see this terror grip their eyes.  I have to  make it clear that I'm not some antivaxxer maniac and they can speak bluntly with me.

People should be given the choice to vaccinate or not and they is currently the case

However decisions have consequences. I say, at thud point, if you choose not to vaccinate, any complications to covid you suffer as a result should be borne out of your own expense.

If you die for lack of care - that's on you. An indirect way to motivate people into getting vaccinated. A vaccine costs the government a few dollars. Treating the preventable disease costs tens of thousands - or more - dollars.

There's a new strain out from Africa called the 'nu' strain (I see what they did there). America has had at least 50 million infections and no mutant strain ever evolved from that?

Maybe Americans are just such easy targets there's no pressure for the virus to evolve in them
