I think too many people have been brought up on a diet of TV and film, often with the word "seal" in it, showing evil masterminds who need assassinating before they commit some atrocity against innocent Americans.  And state sanctioned murder is OK as long as you arbitrarily designate them a "terrorist" 5 minutes before you blow them up.

The idea that blowing up Soleimani will have any affect on Iran's capabilities in the region is ludicrous.  It's a country of 80 million, with a massive military.  They just promote someone else into the post.  It's not like they will now pack up and go home.

America is just behaving like some gangster cappo whacking rivals who get out of line.

People are overlooking something significant here: this wasn't just about killing Soleimani, it's about terrorising rivals. The message this gives to opponents of the US is "no matter who you are and where you are, we don't give a fuck about repercussions and international law, we're just gonna kill you with a drone if you get too uppity".

I agree this one, perhaps for the first time with you. Obama has already create the ISIS and he had good relationship with all the terror groups. Hence, such terroristic murders suit for him, but not for Trump so much.
