No. Thats the globe earth / scientific community asserting THE TRUTH all the time. And then changing it as they get more information (or the public clues in).
You haven't a clue about science.
The scientific community doesn't claim to have "the truth" - just the best theory that is supported by cirrently available evidence.
A scientific theory must be falsifiable, ie able to be proven false.
Of course a theory should be modified or discarded when more information comes in.
For example a
stationary Globe at the centre of the Universe (Geocentric Universe) seemed to fit available evidence for some 1800 years. Some, including Aristarchus is Samos and a few from Arabic countries and India did question it, but Geocentric Universe was retained because no stellar parallax could be observed.
Then during the period from Copernicus, Tycho Brahe, Galileo, Kepler and Newton the evidence in favour of a Heliocentric Solar System became so great that it replaced the old Geocentric Universe.
Not only did the motions of the planets fit the Heliocentric Solar System better but Newton's Laws explain the reason for the orbits if the planets.
In that case there was a real paradigm shift but in other cases the new theory simply adds to the old as Einstein's GR did to Newton's Laws of Motion and Universal Gravitation. Newton's Laws are still accurate within there applicable range of velocities and gravitation.
But "flat Earth Science" does not seem to be falsifiable in the way the Geocentric Universe was.
The Earth is just assumed to be flat because it looks flat and all contrary evidence is either
explained away by unsupported hypotheses or
claimed to be false or fabRicard.
