December 26th Annular Eclipse
« on: December 05, 2019, 07:06:24 PM »
Round Earth astronomers with their 'fake' science and their faulty understanding of the cosmos are predicting that on December 26th, there will be an annular eclipse(A solar eclipse in which the Moon does not completely block the Sun despite passing completely in front of it). Pretty impressive for a bunch of deluded fools, eh?

So I'm curious as to how many Flat Earthers who will choose to be in the path of this stellar event will take the time to actually observe and record data in order to refine their 'theories'.

Trying to work out what point you are trying to imply in this sentence.  Are you saying that you don't think the eclipse will actually happen?   Otherwise why would you need to make such comments about people who are just following something they are passionate about?

I'm sure any flat Earthers who do go and watch it will be as welcome as anyone else is.  As always these trips have to be booked several years in advance because of the demand for accommodation.  Accommodation which for obvious reasons becomes very expensive. Not to mention the air fare since people will travel from all around the world so I doubt anyone would commit to that if they weren't 100% certain the eclipse was going to happen.

Can you point out to me any eclipse of the Sun or Moon which hasn't happened at exactly the time predicted?

So what is 'fake' and 'faulty' about eclipse predictions as our EvolvedMantisShrimp seems to think?

Takes a little while to separate the RE/FE and 'The Others'  ;D

I can give a hint, though.  Nearly everyone on this board is a round earther.  A few are trolls.  I suspect there are at least four genuine flat earthers actively on the forums that are willing to engage in conversation, although sometimes they have to be baited into it.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

According to some FE'ers, solar eclipses are predicted by using the Saros cycle.  I wonder how Saros can predict wheter the eclipse will be total or annular.

I'd like to know how an annular eclipse is even possible with a small (600 m ::) to 50 km) close sun (10 ::) to 5000 km) from Earth and a moon (or Black Sun ::)) or similar size.

The geometry required for an annular eclipse is as in this diagram (very far from scale):

Solar and Lunar eclipses and the unchanging size of the sun and moon (over a day) kill any thoughts of the small close Sun and Moon stone dead.
The ancient Greeks were aware of that well before they considered the Earth a Globe and modern flat Earthers still can't be convinced - go figure!

It wasn't near here but this might be of interest:

It also includes a bit from Kuwait and from 1:08 the annular eclipse.

Then it links to this video from Singapore:

I have learned It's being a lie. photoshop experts in nasa created a cgi , france24 published it, so you copied from there. If you knew it will be, so why wasn't your camera ready? Aha, because you know it's a lie.

There's no need to fixate on NASA.  What about all these independent verifications?  https://www.google.com/search?q=december+eclipse+2019&tbm=nws

No you haven't learned any such thing! That photo had nothing whatsoever to do with NASA! Here read this:
Quote from: France24
'Ring of fire' eclipse wows across Asia
. . . . . . . . . . .
The amateur astronomer used a special solar filter on his telescope as there is no safe period to observe an annular solar eclipse.
Alexander Alin 45, a geophysicist from Germany, travels around the world following eclipses.
"It's only two minutes, but it's so intense that you talk about it with your friends, family for the next month," Alin said.

- Eclipse stops play -
In southern India, people gathered on the beaches in Tamil Nadu to watch the event.
The eclipse even affected cricket, with play delayed by two hours in a first-class match between Mumbai and Rajkot.
The eastern state of Odisha declared a public holiday, with all government offices, courts, schools and colleges closed.

But in New Delhi, cloud and pollution blocked the view and Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted his disappointment, although only a partial eclipse would have been visible that far north.

"Like many Indians I was enthusiastic about solareclipse2019," Modi said.
"Unfortunately, I could not see the Sun due to cloud cover but I did catch glimpses of the eclipse in Kozhikode and other parts on live stream."

In Indonesia, hundreds of people gathered outside Jakarta Planetarium to watch the event using protective glasses supplied by the planetarium, hoping for clear skies at the time of maximum eclipse.
"I could see the eclipse this morning and now am very excited to see the peak though now it is cloudy," said Chandra Ayu Dewi, 39, who arrived at 7:00 am with her children.

The next annual eclipse in June 2020 will be visible to a narrow band from Africa to northern Asia.
The following one in June 2021 will only be seen in the Arctic and parts of Canada, Greenland and the remote Russian far east.

See, it has nothing to do with NASA but taken by "Alexander Alin 45, a geophysicist from Germany, travels around the world following eclipses"!

And the videos in my post had nothing to do with NASA! have a look here: December 26th Annular Eclipse « Reply #15 on: December 27, 2019, 01:09:05 PM »

But what is your problem with Solar eclipses?
They have been observed and even predicted decades in advanced by the ancient Babylonians and Chinese astronomers.
And those ancient Babylonians and Chinese astronomers also believed that the Earth was flat.
Why don't you learn a little about the history of these things?

There is nothing false or CGI'ed about an annular eclipse. If you bothered to learn the true facts about solar eclipses then you would discover that annular eclipses are quite natural and easily explained by the varying distances of the Moon and Sun from Earth.  But you would rather just make scathing and unfounded comments instead because they are the limit of what your tunnel minded beliefs allow you to do.

You really have a problem with facts and the truth. We live in an age where there have never been so many cameras in people’s hands. This particular eclipse didn’t even occur over the USA, it being over Asia, Africa and parts of OZ, so why you mention NASA!
Lookout on the web there are literally thousands of images taken by Joe Public. You’re knee jerk silly remarks just reinforce your standing as the forum fool.
Really…..what a laugh!!!
