How do Pete's delegates get divvied up?

I wondered about that too.

https://people.howstuffworks.com/primary2.htm

This doesn't seem to be super clear but it looks like they become converted to superdelegates.  There's also a possible that he can sort of donate them to the candidate of his choice.

Interesting. This super delegate business seems to sort of be a recurring problem/issue. It's almost like having a mini-electoral college inside the nominee 'general election'. They seem extremely powerful. Perhaps overly so.
Well, you know the Democrats...

They truly are a party for the little guy...

In practice though this would not only cause the democrats to lose this election but probably annihilate the party in the process.  We'll see just how much they dislike Sanders.

I've never been entirely clear about that.  The DNC did put their thumb on the scale but I'm not certain that it would have mattered.

If Sanders gets the most votes but they give it to Biden anyways then that's a whole different situation.

The issue is that last time they were putting their thumb on the scale while the process was happening, so it was even worse in some ways.

The superdelegates are one of the things the Sanders camp got screwed on last election. I can only imagine what would happen if Sanders went in the clear front runner and the superdelegates gave the nomination to Biden. We could actually see a new political party form, giving permanent control of everything to Republicans for the foreseeable future.
No, that's not gonna happen if the party splits. I doubt it will split but if it did it would probably only happen after the election if the Democrats lose (which is very likely if that happens), but it wouldn't necessarily mean the republicans would win every time or whatever, because the voters won't just be split 50-50. Some moderate republicans may flock to the Democrats after the more progressive wing is gone and the Democrats shift further right, and some anti-establishment Trump voters may go to the new party.

That's what I was implying. Warren is not dropping out even though she's done much worse than Buttigieg and has no chance, because she splits Bernie's vote.

And after all these people drop out, you wonder why they spent their campaigns at each others throats and making their party look unelectable. Some of the debates were so toxic and incendiary that its a wonder any voter would want to vote for any of them.

I mean, they all have the same goal in wanting Trump out of office. And lets say Biden gets the nomination. Kamala spent her days painting him as a racist and how long did she last herself? She would have known she had a poofteenths chance in hell of not only winning the nomination but being elected President. Yet chose to get up there and rubbish Biden who for a long time has had a good shot at winning.

Bloomberg is spending all his money trying to make Sanders look so bad that no one should vote for him. And what if Sanders wins it and Bloomberg has to bow out? Bloomberg may have helped Trump secure another 4 years because if anyone actually listened to Bloomy, they may be put off by Sanders.

This toxic muck raking culture is why so many Presidents will serve out their 2 terms. In 4 years, both parties will be at each others throats so on an even playing field again.

I think they think they need to decimate each other to get the nomination. If I had a nickel for every time I heard "circular firing squad"...But that's how these primaries work here. The flipside is I think they all think all is forgiven and Americans will forget all the toxicity once they bow out and endorse someone. Bloomberg on 60 minutes last night said when pressed that he would endorse the nominee, anything to get Trump out.

In the mean time, it's knives out amongst the remaining Dems. Tuesday will be the reckoning for Bloomberg and Warren. At the end of the day, we'll probably ride into the convention with a Bloomberg, Sanders, Biden ballot and the real superdelegate bribery/manipulation will begin.

Prediction: Sanders wins by a very narrow margin (or maybe only in popular vote) but doesn't have a majority, and the superdelegates give it to Biden.

With those 7 extra points he most definitely will owe her big time!

Plus if he's reading this thread he can stick it to Pez. As a VP she would definately be the 'one to watch'.

And yes,  it's hilarious.

You lack the balls to admit you were plain wrong lol. If her not dropping out immediately proves me wrong then I guess Tulsi Gabbard is "one to watch" too lol.

Let's look at some amazing JerkFace predictions!

Pez is like that know-it-all kid in school who just refused to admit there was something he didn't know.  Even when proven wrong he retreats into pedantry,  and nit-picking.

Biden is damaged goods.  ( Trump's dirt campaign worked ),  Mayor Pete is going to run headlong into the homophobic attacks,  Bernie is too old and too radical,  Warren would make a great Treasury Secretary,  Kamala Harris for AG?

So who's left?   Bloomberg?  Klobuchar?
So the "damaged goods" candidate and the "too old and too radical" candidate are currently leading the race, while Klobuchar has dropped out.

Apparently it seems like I am actually wrong for predicting she wasn't going to come close to a win after she drops out before even Super Tuesday, and you're right for predicting she will have a massive last minute surge and become a strong contender. I am curious, what would it ever take to admit you were wrong? Because it is pretty much impossible to get a more clear cut case.

Man, these goal posts are frigging heavy! Ugh. Little help Pez? :P

Here's something we can all laugh together at

American politics. Who can really predict it? I bet if he were running today, no one would give a damn about his girly scream 'YEAH!' lol

Yet, regardless of how great he may have been, what policies and plans he has, that one passionate scream can turn into a meme and end it all.

Trump can boast about sexually assaulting women and actually boosts his chances though lol.

Idk, predictions are kinda dumb but I'm gonna make one. Are you hearing this JerkFace? Now is your chance to redeem yourself. Or at least make fun of me or whatever. It's more like 4 predictions but whatever.

Butt endorses Biden. Warren drops out after Super Tuesday but doesn't endorse Bernie, at least not for a few days, or maybe not at all. End result is Sanders gets a narrow plurality over Biden, a brokered convention happens and Biden wins.

These are very specific predictions, I'm not gonna chicken out and say "well actually me being wrong proves I was right". At least now you have a shot at not being the only one who is proven wrong.

I actually wasn't the one who made a big deal about it. All I had told JerkFace was "yeah sure" when he said she was gonna have a last minute surge. He didn't like that and started linking stuff that supposedly showed she totally had a chance. Then he started celebrating for some reason when initial results showed her 4th in Iowa, and saying I couldn't admit to being wrong. After that point it was way too funny to not make a big deal about it. I didn't even say anything about JerkFace after she dropped out, he posted about me for some reason.
