Hymns of the flat earth
« on: November 25, 2019, 12:11:04 AM »
The hymns here are for flat earthers to sing in their holy days like Parallax day, feast of enag, wise day, earth day, sagnac day, etc...

The hymns to be listed here must meet these requirements.

1- It should include the words of one of the flat earth researchers. The names of these people located "HERE" and additionally Shenton (Samuel or Daniel), wise or sandokhan.
2- At the end of the hymn, the researcher's work must be specified and the link must be added.
3- The author of the hymn must not add anything of his own to the hymn other than the words of researchers.
4- The hymn must have subliminal messages or subtle humor to attract public attention.
5- Work should emphasize the flat earth.

I expect poets, writers and composers in our forum to contribute to this sacred mission. I also suggest that the administration attach this issue to the base topics at the top.

Just get the lyrics from flat earth man's tunes, sing them to a bit of organ music, and call them flat earth hymns.

Easy.

I thought I'd seen it all, Wise, but tonight I switched on my TV and was mistreated to a sportsbet ad, starring none other than Mark Sargent, introduced as a flat earther, seen stomping flat an inflatable earth globe.

Hymns of the flat earth. So much material at your disposal, wise.

I'll whip up a hymn for you.....

we are more than mark sargent. the divine you will write about it will be told by millions in the future. I ask you to think and feel like you are a flat earther. I know this is difficult for you. in a way you will feel like an idiot. but this kindness will help us write the future together.

My humble attempt.

Oh when the sun has risen or at least come into view,
I shall travel down to Bedford to give honour to you.
In the cold green waters of that sacred waterway,
I shall baptise my children on this flat earth holy-day.

Oh, under the cool poison shadow of the sickle moon,
I shall laugh at the ISS meteorological balloon.
As it streaks overhead at ninety-minute intervals,
I shall pray for the souls of the NASA pimpernels.

Oh, as I sail towards England, birthplace to Shenton and me,
I will spy the cliffs of Dover, as if rising from the sea.
An illusion sent by Jesus to test the faith of the true,
Dismiss! Ignore!
Then on with the creation of the flat earth Xanadu.

Note; The Dismiss! Ignore! Part of the last verse should be shouted out loud with much punching of the air
Life is meaningless and everything dies.

Every man makes a god of his own desire

Note 2; The inclusion of pimpernels at the close of the second verse may smack of just shoehorning any word in that rhymes with intervals, as the pimpernel (scarlet) was a heroic figure who rescued those about to die on the guillotine, however, he was also an aristocrat with a secret identity, part of an elite group who freed the privileged from their retribution at the hands of the emancipated poor, a representation therefore of an organisation that purports to do good but in essence looks after the advantaged to the detriment of the many.
So, nothing to do with it being the only thing that popped into my head as a rhyme and wouldn’t allow anything else to grow, like the pernicious weed it is.
Life is meaningless and everything dies.

Every man makes a god of his own desire

Here you go, Wise, enjoy!

Far from the world's cold science pride,
Come join our flat earth happy band,
Come stranger, we your senses guide,
Where pillars of truth shall hold command,

Although in scorned paths you tread,
And filled perhaps with doubts and fear,
A flat earther's wise hand shall lead,
Where doubt and emptiness disappear,

Here may yon in our discussions join,
And prove yourself a flat earther true,
All prior scientific cares resign,
And keep our flat earth truths in view

Sounds well. I've noticed it as hymn number 1. I hope we can find a composition for it. I want to thank you in the name of flat earthers in the earth.

not. it is one of the things that others think flat earthers like this song but there isn't a relationship. As you have done for years, you use your reputation points to make fun of flat earthers. Are they pressing you to do such nonsences or are you doing it by yourself?

A hymn is a religious song or poem.

Not so, Bullwinkle. A song is sung, supported by musical instruments,  while a poem is read. Lyrics of a song are generally kept shorter.

At first glance, Jura's masterpiece read to me like a poem, I saw stanzas not lyrics. But on subsequent readings it could work to the tune of Belfast Child by Simple Minds.

I know right.

Any way I have replaced the pernicious word with one more in keeping with the general FES attitude. and removed the frankly conceited reference to myself

As it streaks overhead at ninety-minute intervals,
I shall pray for the souls of the NASA infidels.

Oh, sailing to England, where his remains are said to be,
you will spy the cliffs of Dover, as if rising from the sea.
An illusion sent by Jesus to test the faith of the true,
Dismiss! Ignore!
Then on to the creation of Shenton’s flat earth Xanadu.
Life is meaningless and everything dies.

Hell no, nobody want to pray for the souls of the NASA infidels. We can only curse them.

If there is no chance of redemption for the workers of NASA, then you damn the young who go there in good faith armed only with school knowledge, if revelation should come to them they should be welcomed here, to not pray for that revelation marks the FES as narrow minded and elitest

Bullwinkle, you stick in the mud. You sing a hymn and read a poem.

The difference was defined centuries before I was born, but yeah, I do get to define words as I feel.

Does your church have a book of poetry for your poetry reading classes? Lol! :P

More importantly, where's your hymn for wise?

Nice work, Jura!

Alright I've got another idea. Take the song friday by rebecca's black and replace the chorus with "its flat"

Alternatively replace every word in the lyrics with the word "flat".

Bonus, it may be possible to hire rebecca black to sing this version of the song.

Nasa infidels versus Nasa flat earthers.

Get the difference? Nasa. being infidel in NASA. and. being flat earth believer in NASA. both are possible. We don't pray for infidels in NASA, "nasa infidels.

Get it? Still no?

the sun to know his proper hour to rise

“My God, who makes the sun to know
His proper hour to rise,
And to give light to all below
Down send him round the skies.

“When, from the chambers of the East,
    His morning race begins
He never tires nor stops to rest,
But, round the world he shines.

“God of the morning, at whose voice
The cheerful sun makes haste to rise,
And like a giant doth rejoice
To run his journeys through the skies;
He sends the sun his circuit round
To cheer the fruits and warm the ground.”

How fair has the day been!
  How bright was the sun!
  How lovely and the joyful!
  The course that he run!

Isaac Watts, 1715. This hym has been mentioned by Samuel Rowbotham. Hence this poetry is appropriate in day of Parallax, December 23th.
