Ewwww it took years of therapy to forget 2 & 3

Do we need 4?

Cant they just write a new original idea?

Comsidering both main characters died in 3... Not sure how they'll do this.
You have been ignored for common interest of mankind.

Resurrecting people is not without precedence in that storytelling universe.  It doesn't necessarily break their rules.  But it  would be bad storytelling.

The Matrix draws heavily from a lot of Cyberpunk, especially Neuromancer where (as far as I am aware) the term "the Matrix" was first born; "...A consensual hallucination experienced daily by billions of legitimate operators, in every nation..." The movie also basically carbon copies what Zion looks like from the book.

Trinity is a very close copy of Molly from Neuromancer. And one of the key characters, McCoy Pauley (aka the Dixie Flatline) existed as a ROM personality matrix, which is what I imagine they will do with Trinity and Neo.

They probably got downloaded to the matrix just before they died.

I can't wait until there's literally no new movies and all movies are reboots of franchises resurrecting dead characters.

That's a few more years away.

It's not that there aren't new movies or stories. Hollywood is just lazy and only cares about money. People are currently buying old rebooted stories
