Correct,  it's not your fault that you are ignorant of Syrian history.  But you could at least make an effort to learn a little bit.  Or, you could go on thinking you know it all.

Tulsi Gabbard is planning a spoiler campaign.  I'm wondering if that might backfire, and she takes votes from Trump,  rather than the Dems.

It is in Gabbard’s interest to conflate the charge that she is working on behalf of the Republicans with the charge that she’s working on behalf of the Russians. The former is apparent, while the latter is impossible to prove. Gabbard has taken some strident foreign-policy stances that follow no apparent American dovish objective, and do line up with Russian goals. While Gabbard presents herself as a noninterventionist, she bizarrely attacked the Obama administration for failing to bomb Al Qaeda in Syria, while crediting Russia for allegedly doing so:

Interesting angle by Nate Silver,  If Gabbard runs as a 3rd party spoiler,  there is a strong chance she will split the conservative vote, rather than the Dems.

Lest you make the mistake that Tulsi Gabbard's support is coming from the left, almost all of her support in the Q-Pac poll of NH is from voters who describe themselves as conservative or moderate. And almost all from independents and not Democrats.

Upon further reflection I really don't have a good reason to dislike Tulsi Gabbard.  Perhaps if I research it I'll find a reason but the best that I can think of is that she seems very unpleasant.

I think the Russians just like bri going chaos to what would otherwise be something orderly.
