I make a careful examination of the vampires cask, if there isn't an obvious way in, then in the spirit of Boydsta, I will douse it in petrol and torch it.
You peer closely at the coffin. There is no way to open it with your bare hands; the top is sealed far too tightly, sturdy wood nailed into the box below. Do you still wish to burn it?

You watch as the coffin, and everything inside it, burns.
By the corner of the graveyard, the vampire hunter is banging her head on a headstone at how your first instinct is to set fire to everything. Could've tried just breaking it open. But nope. Fire!

That’s all very fucking well for the largely quiescent hunter skulking back there, I was here at the pointy end with a potential vampire, at night, breaking into its home, with no stake or crucifix because they have cunningly been hidden, and lurker over there, won’t lend out hers, so bollocks it’s pitchforks and fire, all the way.

Jura sifts through the ashes in search of something that may have survived.

I do things! Important... vampire hunting... things!
You search through the ashes. All that remains is bone, scoured clean and old. If there was any stake or crucifix within the coffin, it would have been wooden and burnt up with the rest.
You reflect, maybe just chopping it open with an axe might have been a smarter thing to do. Axes are your thing!

Like lurking, tutting and banging your head on things, after the fact.

And what sort of useless vampire hunter incarcerates a vampire in a coffin with a biodegradable crucifix? Asking for bloody trouble that is, Shit, I bet it was your ancestor, the Clouseau’s of the undead hunting fraternity, inquisitor Bean visits the graveyard.

Don’t knock tutting! Tutting is very fun.
There are stories out there of the oldest vampires, ones who must be left with a stake in their heart for a period of sixty six years, else they will reawaken. Yet more rumours that something like a crucifix prevents its spirit from reaching anything else.
Fire is not the answer to all life’s problems. You’re thinking of swords. Swords solve all problems.

Well sod it! Jura goes to the woods with Puppy Slayer and a sharp knife from the forge, finds some Ash saplings and makes a brace of stakes for herself. For good measure she dips them in the font in the church.

You now have weapons that can kill a vampire. However, without any previous preparation, you are still at the mercy of the vampire’s superior physical might.

"Right then," Jane says, looking at the votes. Jura's name is at the top of the list. "The pyromaniac. Gonna take a wild guess and say human because no vampire would spend that much time around fire. and- gotcha!"
She throws a bag of rice into Jura's face. Jura glowers back.
"Um-" Jura begins.
Jane throws a few seeds at her.
"Are you just making this vampire hunter stuff up?" Jura says.
"Nuh-uh!" Jane says. She throws more seeds. "Vampires have an obsession with counting. Grains of rice, seeds, they'll be compelled to count every last one."
"...Suuuure."
"Look it up! it's a thing!"
Jura looks back skeptically. Jane shrugs.
"Whatever. Human. You guys have fun.

Day three dawns.

I'm going to throw out a theory here:

SCG is hypnotized.

Rationale:

Liam is a figment of her imagination.  The manifestation of her hypnotic state.

LIAM IS REAL. I'm going to write a 15 paragraph essay on tumblr about how mean you are.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

But, I would on balance go for Crout's, stone faced killer.

If NSS is the vamp then it will be difficult since he is hardly present (he also did vote for Gayer early on).

I am voting for Crouton or Stash, I just don't know who yet.

Can't argue with that. I can't really recommend a target. But I would point out that we'll need at least 4 votes since likely 2 if us are hypnotized. So I'd recommend that we agree in a target first.

His home however appears unoccupied. He may have visited early last night, but now it is empty and he has not been back.

I think we should check the tunnel where he was doing the ceremony.
You descend to the tunnel below the church; it is quiet. You make your way slowly to the chamber.
The sight that greets you is awful. The rune is still laid out, but scratched, blackened, with bloodstains ruining the design. And in the middle lies Liam, stretched out, an awful looking slash over his chest. When he sees you, his eyes flicker open weakly, his voice cracking; it's a strain to hear.
"My... bloodline..." he says. "Only someone with my blood... could... my family has... for so long... my mother... wanted to... but it wasn't her, oh god, it didn't work. Not her... spirit..."
And then he slumps, and is still, eyes staring emptily ahead.
