I make a careful examination of the vampires cask, if there isn't an obvious way in, then in the spirit of Boydsta, I will douse it in petrol and torch it.

You peer closely at the coffin. There is no way to open it with your bare hands; the top is sealed far too tightly, sturdy wood nailed into the box below. Do you still wish to burn it?

You search through the ashes. All that remains is bone, scoured clean and old. If there was any stake or crucifix within the coffin, it would have been wooden and burnt up with the rest.
You reflect, maybe just chopping it open with an axe might have been a smarter thing to do. Axes are your thing!

There are stories out there of the oldest vampires, ones who must be left with a stake in their heart for a period of sixty six years, else they will reawaken. Yet more rumours that something like a crucifix prevents its spirit from reaching anything else.

You now have weapons that can kill a vampire. However, without any previous preparation, you are still at the mercy of the vampire’s superior physical might.

"Right then," Jane says, looking at the votes. Jura's name is at the top of the list. "The pyromaniac. Gonna take a wild guess and say human because no vampire would spend that much time around fire. and- gotcha!"

Can't argue with that. I can't really recommend a target. But I would point out that we'll need at least 4 votes since likely 2 if us are hypnotized. So I'd recommend that we agree in a target first.

You descend to the tunnel below the church; it is quiet. You make your way slowly to the chamber.
The sight that greets you is awful. The rune is still laid out, but scratched, blackened, with bloodstains ruining the design. And in the middle lies Liam, stretched out, an awful looking slash over his chest. When he sees you, his eyes flicker open weakly, his voice cracking; it's a strain to hear.
"My... bloodline..." he says. "Only someone with my blood... could... my family has... for so long... my mother... wanted to... but it wasn't her, oh god, it didn't work. Not her... spirit..."
And then he slumps, and is still, eyes staring emptily ahead.
